There was a young boy who took care of sheep.
Todos os dias, ele observava as ovelhas numa colina perto de sua aldeia.
Every day, he watched the sheep on a hill near his village.
O menino estava entediado.
The boy was bored.
Ele queria se divertir um pouco.
He wanted to have some fun.
Então ele teve uma má ideia.
So he had a bad idea.
Socorro!
"Help!"
"Socorro!"
"Help!"
gritou o menino.
the boy shouted.
"Um lobo está vindo!"
"A wolf is coming!"
"O lobo quer comer as minhas ovelhas!"
"The wolf wants to eat my sheep!"
As pessoas da aldeia o ouviram.
The people in the village heard him.
Eles correram morro acima para ajudar o menino.
They ran up the hill to help the boy.
Mas quando chegaram lá, não viram lobo algum.
But when they got there, they saw no wolf.
O menino estava rindo.
The boy was laughing.
"Eu estava apenas brincando!"
"I was just playing!"
disse o menino.
said the boy.
"Não há lobo nenhum!"
"There is no wolf!"
O povo estava furioso.
The people were angry.
Eles voltaram para a aldeia.
They went back to the village.
Alguns dias depois, o menino fez a mesma coisa novamente.
A few days later, the boy did the same thing again.
Socorro!
"Help!"
"Socorro!"
"Help!"
gritou ele.
he shouted.
"Um lobo está aqui!"
"A wolf is here!"
"Venham depressa!"
"Come quickly!"
Novamente, as pessoas correram colina acima.
Again, the people ran up the hill.
Mais uma vez, não havia lobo algum.
Again, there was no wolf.
O menino estava rindo novamente.
The boy was laughing again.
"Você nos enganou!"
"You tricked us!"
disseram as pessoas.
said the people.
Estavam muito zangados.
They were very angry.
Voltaram à aldeia.
They went back to the village.
Um dia, um lobo de verdade veio à colina.
One day, a real wolf came to the hill.
O lobo era grande e faminto.
The wolf was big and hungry.
Queria comer a ovelha.
It wanted to eat the sheep.
Socorro!
"Help!"
"Socorro!"
"Help!"
gritou o menino.
shouted the boy.
"Um lobo está realmente aqui!"
"A wolf is really here!"
"Por favor, venham me ajudar!"
"Please come and help me!"
Mas desta vez, ninguém veio.
But this time, nobody came.
As pessoas da aldeia ouviram o menino, mas não acreditaram nele.
The people in the village heard the boy, but they did not believe him.
"Ele está mentindo de novo,"
"He is lying again,"
disseram eles.
they said.
"Nós não iremos."
"We will not go."
O lobo comeu muitas das ovelhas.
The wolf ate many of the sheep.
O menino ficou muito triste e assustado.
The boy was very sad and scared.
Ninguém acredita num mentiroso, mesmo quando ele diz a verdade.
Nobody believes a liar, even when they tell the truth.
