A man came to the forest with an old, broken axe.

No podía cortar ningún árbol con ella. El hombre pidió ayuda a los árboles.

He could not cut any trees with it. The man asked the trees for help.

"Please give me a small piece of wood,"

dijo.

Los árboles sintieron lástima por el hombre.

The trees felt sorry for the man.

They talked together and decided to help him.

The man made a new handle for his axe.

He cut down many trees in the forest.

The old trees were very sad.

Se dijeron unos a otros,

They said to each other,

"Cometimos un gran error."

"We made a big mistake."

Le ayudamos a arreglar su hacha.

"We helped him fix his axe."

Ahora la está usando para destruirnos.

"Now he is using it to destroy us."

Le dimos el poder de lastimarnos.

"We gave him the power to hurt us."

El hombre cortó más y más árboles.

The man cut down more and more trees.
