The Four Oxen and the Lion
Cuatro bueyes vivían juntos pacíficamente en un prado, siempre manteniéndose cerca para protegerse mutuamente del peligro. Un león hambriento los observaba desde cerca, esperando el momento perfecto para atacar.
Cuatro bueyes vivían en un campo.
Four oxen lived in a field.
Eran los mejores amigos.
They were best friends.
Siempre permanecían juntos.
They always stayed together.
Comían hierba juntos.
They ate grass together.
Caminaron juntos.
They walked together.
Durmieron juntos.
They slept together.
Un león hambriento vivía cerca del campo.
A hungry lion lived near the field.
Quería comerse a los bueyes.
He wanted to eat the oxen.
Pero los cuatro bueyes siempre permanecían juntos.
But the four oxen always stood close together.
Cuando el león se acercaba, le apuntaron con sus cuernos.
When the lion came near, they pointed their horns at him.
El león temía sus afilados cuernos.
The lion was afraid of their sharp horns.
No pudo atrapar a ninguno de ellos.
He could not catch any of them.
El león era muy astuto.
The lion was very smart.
Tenía un plan.
He had a plan.
Se acercó a cada buey cuando los otros no estaban presentes.
He went to each ox when the others were not there.

He told lies to each ox about the other oxen.
"Tus amigos dicen cosas malas de ti,"
"Your friends say bad things about you,"

"They do not like you,"

"They laugh at you,"

"They want to leave you,"

They became angry with each other.

They stopped talking.

They went to different parts of the field.
Ahora los bueyes estaban solos.
Now the oxen were alone.

The lion was very happy.

The ox was alone.

He had no friends to help him.

The lion caught him easily.

Then the lion caught the second ox.

He caught them all because they were alone.
