Ils décidèrent de voyager à travers l'Angleterre pour trouver la meilleure nourriture.
They decided to travel around England to find the best food.
"Partons à l'aventure !"
"Let's go on an adventure!"
dit M. Pickwick.
said Mr. Pickwick.
« Nous mangerons des pâtés et des gâteaux dans chaque ville ! »
"We will eat pies and cakes in every town!"
Ses amis applaudirent.
His friends clapped their hands.
Ils firent leurs gros bagages et montèrent dans une charrette.
They packed big bags and climbed into a horse cart.
Dans la première ville, ils trouvèrent une boulangerie.
In the first town, they found a bakery.
Le boulanger pleurait.
The baker was crying.
Pourquoi êtes-vous triste ?
"Why are you sad?"
demanda M. Pickwick.
asked Mr. Pickwick.
« Un géant mesquin a volé toutes mes recettes de pain, »
"A mean giant stole all my bread recipes,"
dit le boulanger.
said the baker.
M. Pickwick retroussa ses manches.
Mr. Pickwick rolled up his sleeves.

"We will help you!"
Les quatre amis marchèrent vers la caverne du géant.
The four friends walked to the giant's cave.
Mais le géant n'était pas méchant.
But the giant was not mean.
Il avait juste très faim et se sentait très seul.
He was just very hungry and lonely.
« Je suis désolé »,
"I'm sorry,"
dit le géant.
said the giant.
« J'ai pris vos recettes parce que je voulais me faire des amis. »
"I took your recipes because I wanted to make friends."
"Mais je ne sais pas faire de la pâtisserie."
"But I don't know how to bake."
M. Pickwick sourit.
Mr. Pickwick smiled.
Nous pouvons vous enseigner !
"We can teach you!"
Alors nous pourrons tous faire de la pâtisserie ensemble.
"Then we can all bake together."
Alors ils apprirent au géant comment faire du pain.
So they taught the giant how to make bread.
Le géant était très heureux.
The giant was very happy.
Il rendit toutes les recettes et cuisit le plus grand gâteau du monde.
He gave back all the recipes and baked the biggest cake in the world.
Les amis partagèrent le gâteau avec tous les habitants de la ville.
The friends shared the cake with everyone in town.
Ils apprirent que partager la nourriture rend tout plus savoureux.
They learned that sharing food makes everything taste better.
À partir de ce jour, M. Pickwick et ses amis voyagèrent avec le géant.
From that day, Mr. Pickwick and his friends traveled with the giant.
Ils ouvrirent des boulangeries dans chaque ville et se firent de nombreux nouveaux amis.
