The Water of Life
Un roi mourant a besoin de l'Eau de Vie magique pour survivre, et ses trois fils doivent partir à sa recherche. Seul un des frères possède la bonté et la sagesse nécessaires pour réussir cette quête dangereuse.
Je m'appelle Splash.
My name is Splash.
Je suis une goutte d'eau.
I am a drop of water.
Je vis dans un puits magique.
I live in a magic well.
Pendant cent ans, j'ai attendu dans le puits sombre.
For one hundred years, I waited in the dark well.
J'étais une eau spéciale.
I was special water.
Je pouvais sauver les gens de la mort.
I could save people from dying.
Mais personne ne me connaissait.
But nobody knew about me.
Un jour, trois frères vinrent me chercher.
One day, three brothers came to find me.
Leur père était très malade.
Their father was very sick.
Il allait bientôt mourir.
He was going to die soon.
Le premier frère était méchant.
The first brother was mean.
Il voulait devenir roi.
He wanted to be king.
Il ne voulait pas vraiment sauver son père.
He did not really want to save his father.
Lorsqu'il arriva à mon puits, je le fis tomber dans un profond trou.
When he came to my well, I made him fall into a deep hole.
Les gens méchants ne peuvent pas avoir d'eau magique.
Mean people cannot have magic water.
Le deuxième frère était mauvais lui aussi.
The second brother was also bad.
Il était avide.
He was greedy.
Il voulait de l'or, pas la vie de son père.
He wanted gold, not his father's life.
Je le fis tomber dans le trou, lui aussi.
I made him fall into the hole too.
Le troisième frère était différent.
The third brother was different.
Il s'appelait Tom.
His name was Tom.
Tom était gentil.
Tom was kind.
Il aidait les personnes âgées.
He helped old people.
Il donnait de la nourriture aux animaux affamés.
He gave food to hungry animals.
Il aimait vraiment son père.
He really loved his father.
Quand Tom arriva à mon puits, je fus heureuse.
When Tom came to my well, I was happy.
Enfin !
Finally!
Une bonne personne !
A good person!
« S'il te plaît, aide-moi »,
"Please help me,"
dit Tom.
Tom said.
« Mon père est en train de mourir. »
"My father is dying."
Je bondis hors du puits.
I jumped up from the well.
« Emmène-moi vers lui ! »
"Take me to him!"
dis-je.
I said.
Tom fut surpris.
Tom was surprised.
L'eau lui parlait !
Water was talking to him!
Mais il n'avait pas peur.
But he was not scared.
Les bonnes personnes n'ont pas peur de la magie.
Good people are not scared of magic.
Tom me porta jusqu'à son père.
Tom carried me to his father.
Je touchai les lèvres du vieux roi.
I touched the old king's lips.
La magie opéra !
Magic happened!
Le roi ouvrit les yeux.
The king opened his eyes.
Il était de nouveau en bonne santé !
He was healthy again!
« Tom m'a sauvé »,
"Tom saved me,"
dit le roi.
the king said.
« Tom sera le nouveau roi. »
"Tom will be the new king."
Les frères méchants revinrent des fosses.
The mean brothers came back from the holes.
Ils étaient en colère.
They were angry.
Mais c'était trop tard.
But it was too late.
Tom était déjà roi.
Tom was already king.
Maintenant je vis au château.
Now I live in the castle.
J'aide les malades chaque jour.
I help sick people every day.
Tom est un bon roi.
Tom is a good king.
Il me partage avec tous ceux qui ont besoin d'aide.
He shares me with everyone who needs help.
Je suis heureuse.
I am happy.
Je ne suis plus seulement de l'eau.
I am not just water anymore.
Je suis l'espoir.
I am hope.
