Un re deve scegliere quale dei suoi tre figli erediterà il suo trono, così li manda in una missione per trovare il tappeto più bello. Il figlio più giovane, spesso considerato semplice dagli altri, scopre che a volte i sentieri più inaspettati conducono ai tesori più grandi.
Il vecchio re aveva tre figli.
The old king had three sons.
Era molto malato e doveva scegliere il prossimo re.
He was very sick and needed to pick the next king.
Ma quale figlio?
But which son?
"Ti darò un test,"
"I will give you a test,"
disse il re.
said the king.
"Trovami il tappeto più bello del mondo."
"Find me the most beautiful carpet in the world."
"Il vincitore sarà re."
"The winner will be king."
Il re soffiò tre piume nell'aria.
The king blew three feathers into the air.
"Segui la tua piuma,"
"Follow your feather,"
disse.
he said.
La prima piuma volò verso est.
The first feather flew east.
La seconda piuma volò verso ovest.
The second feather flew west.
La terza piuma cadde proprio lì.
The third feather fell down right there.
Il primo figlio rise.
The first son laughed.
"Troverò il tappeto migliore nella grande città!"
"I will find the best carpet in the big city!"
Il secondo figlio sorrise.
The second son smiled.
"Troverò il tappeto migliore dall'altra parte dell'oceano!"
"I will find the best carpet across the ocean!"
Il terzo figlio sembrava triste.
The third son looked sad.
La sua piuma è appena caduta.
His feather just fell down.
"Devo guardare qui,"
"I must look here,"
disse.
he said.
I fratelli maggiori andarono lontano.
The older brothers went far away.
Comprarono tappeti economici e tornarono rapidamente.
They bought cheap carpets and came back quickly.
Il figlio più giovane si guardò intorno.
The youngest son looked around.
Trovò una grande pietra con una porta.
He found a big stone with a door.
Aprì e scese giù, giù, giù.
He opened it and went down, down, down.
In fondo, trovò una bella rana che indossava una corona.
At the bottom, he found a beautiful frog wearing a crown.
"Ciao, principe,"
"Hello, prince,"
disse la rana.
said the frog.

"I need the most beautiful carpet in the world,"

La rana battè le mani.
The frog clapped her hands.

A tiny frog brought a small box.
Inside was the most beautiful carpet ever made.
Dentro c'era il tappeto più bello mai fatto.
It was soft like clouds and bright like stars.
Era morbido come le nuvole e luminoso come le stelle.
"Thank you!"
said the prince.
He went back to his father.
The three sons showed their carpets.
The father touched the first carpet.
"Questo va bene."
"This is okay."
Toccò il secondo tappeto.
He touched the second carpet.
"Anche questo va bene."
"This is okay too."
Toccò il terzo tappeto.
He touched the third carpet.
"Oh mio Dio!"
"Oh my!"
"Questo è perfetto!"
"This is perfect!"
"Ma ho bisogno di un altro test."
"But I need one more test."
Il re soffiò di nuovo tre piume.
The king blew three feathers again.
"Portatemi l'anello più bello."
"Bring me the most beautiful ring."
Di nuovo, i fratelli maggiori andarono lontano.
Again, the older brothers went far away.
Il figlio più giovane tornò dalla rana.
The youngest son went back to the frog.
La rana gli diede un anello che brillava come il sole.
The frog gave him a ring that sparkled like the sun.
Il re amò l'anello.
The king loved the ring.
"Un ultimo test,"
"One last test,"
disse.
he said.
"Portatemi la donna più bella per essere regina."
"Bring me the most beautiful woman to be queen."
I fratelli seguirono di nuovo le loro piume.
The brothers followed their feathers again.
Il figlio più giovane tornò dalla rana.
The youngest son went back to the frog.
"Verrò con te,"
"I will come with you,"
disse la rana.
said the frog.
"Ma prima devi baciarmi."
"But you must kiss me first."
Il principe era gentile.
The prince was kind.
Baciò la rana.
He kissed the frog.
POOF!
POOF!
La rana diventò la principessa più bella del mondo!
The frog became the most beautiful princess in the world!
Andarono insieme dal re.
They went to the king together.
Il re era così felice.
The king was so happy.
"Hai vinto!"
"You win!"
disse il re.
said the king.
"Tu sarai re, e lei sarà regina!"
"You will be king, and she will be queen!"
Il gentile principe diventò re e visse felice e contento con la sua principessa rana.
The kind prince became king and lived happily ever after with his frog princess.
