Tiger as Anansi's Riding Horse
Anansi l'araignée est connu pour être très malin, mais Tigre pense qu'il est beaucoup plus fort et plus important. Quand les deux se rencontrent, Anansi doit utiliser toute sa ruse pour déjouer le puissant Tigre.

Un jour, Anansi voulut épouser une belle femme.
One day, Anansi wanted to marry a beautiful woman.
Mais elle dit,
But she said,
« Tu es trop petit et faible. »
"You are too small and weak."
Le tigre est grand et fort.
"Tiger is big and strong."
Je l'épouserai.
"I will marry him."
Anansi était triste.
Anansi was sad.
Il réfléchit et réfléchit.
He thought and thought.

Anansi se rendit chez Tigre.

demanda Anansi.

« D'accord »
"Okay,"
dit Tigre. Anansi mit une corde autour de Tigre.

Puis il dit,

« Je suis très malade. »
"I am very sick."
"Puis-je m'asseoir sur ton dos comme sur un cheval ?"
"Can I sit on your back like a horse?"
Le Tigre dit oui.
Tiger said yes.
Anansi grimpa sur le dos de Tigre.
Anansi climbed on Tiger's back.
Je ne peux pas bien voir.
"I cannot see well."
« Puis-je tenir ces bâtons pour m'aider ? »
"Can I hold these sticks to help me?"
demanda Anansi.
asked Anansi.
Les bâtons ressemblaient à un fouet.
The sticks looked like a whip.
Tigre dit oui.
Tiger said yes.
Anansi monta sur le dos de Tigre.
Anansi rode on Tiger's back.
Il tenait la corde et les bâtons.
He held the rope and the sticks.
Il avait l'air de monter à cheval.
He looked like he was riding a horse.
Quand ils arrivèrent à la maison de la femme, tous les animaux les virent.
When they got to the woman's house, all the animals saw them.
Ils virent le petit Anansi chevauchant le grand Tigre comme un cheval.
They saw small Anansi riding on big Tiger like a horse.
La femme fut très surprise.

"Tu as fait porter Tigre comme un cheval."
"You made Tiger carry you like a horse."
Tu es plus intelligent que Tigre.
"You are smarter than Tiger."
Je t'épouserai.
"I will marry you."
Tigre était très en colère.
Tiger was very angry.
Mais tous les animaux se moquaient de lui.
But all the animals were laughing at him.
Il s'enfuit dans la forêt.
He ran away into the forest.
Anansi épousa la belle femme.
Anansi married the beautiful woman.
