The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf
Un jeune berger garde ses moutons dans les collines et découvre que jouer des tours aux autres peut causer de sérieux problèmes. Quand il a le plus besoin d'aide, il apprend une leçon importante sur l'honnêteté et la confiance.
Il y avait un jeune garçon qui gardait les moutons.
There was a young boy who took care of sheep.
Chaque jour, il gardait les moutons sur une colline près de son village.
Every day, he watched the sheep on a hill near his village.
Le garçon s'ennuyait.
The boy was bored.
Il voulait s'amuser.
He wanted to have some fun.
Alors il eut une mauvaise idée.
So he had a bad idea.
Au secours !
"Help!"
"Au secours !"
"Help!"
cria le garçon.
the boy shouted.
« Un loup arrive ! »
"A wolf is coming!"
« Le loup veut dévorer mes moutons ! »
"The wolf wants to eat my sheep!"
Les gens du village l'entendirent.
The people in the village heard him.
Ils coururent en haut de la colline pour aider le garçon.
They ran up the hill to help the boy.
Mais quand ils arrivèrent là-haut, ils ne virent aucun loup.
But when they got there, they saw no wolf.
Le garçon riait.
The boy was laughing.
Je ne faisais que jouer !
"I was just playing!"
dit le garçon.
said the boy.
« Il n'y a pas de loup ! »
"There is no wolf!"
Les gens étaient en colère.
The people were angry.
Ils retournèrent au village.
They went back to the village.
Quelques jours plus tard, le garçon fit de nouveau la même chose.
A few days later, the boy did the same thing again.
Au secours !
"Help!"
"Au secours !"
"Help!"
cria-t-il.
he shouted.
« Un loup est ici ! »
"A wolf is here!"
« Venez vite ! »
"Come quickly!"
Une fois de plus, les gens coururent vers la colline.
Again, the people ran up the hill.
Encore une fois, il n'y avait pas de loup.
Again, there was no wolf.
Le garçon riait de nouveau.
The boy was laughing again.
Tu nous as trompés !
"You tricked us!"
dirent les gens.
said the people.
Ils étaient très en colère.
They were very angry.
Ils retournèrent au village.
They went back to the village.
Un jour, un vrai loup vint sur la colline.
One day, a real wolf came to the hill.
Le loup était grand et affamé.
The wolf was big and hungry.
Il voulait manger le mouton.
It wanted to eat the sheep.
Au secours !
"Help!"
"Au secours !"
"Help!"
cria le garçon.
shouted the boy.
« Un loup est vraiment là ! »
"A wolf is really here!"
« Venez m'aider, s'il vous plaît ! »
"Please come and help me!"
Mais cette fois, personne ne vint.
But this time, nobody came.
Les gens du village entendirent le garçon, mais ils ne le crurent pas.
The people in the village heard the boy, but they did not believe him.
« Il ment encore »,
"He is lying again,"
dirent-ils.
they said.
Nous n'irons pas.
"We will not go."
Le loup a dévoré beaucoup de moutons.
The wolf ate many of the sheep.
Le garçon était très triste et effrayé.
The boy was very sad and scared.
Personne ne croit un menteur, même quand il dit la vérité.
Nobody believes a liar, even when they tell the truth.
