A donkey found a lion's skin on the ground.

He put it on his back.
Ora sembrava un leone.
Now he looked like a lion.
L'asino camminò nella foresta.
The donkey walked into the forest.
Tutti gli animali lo videro.
All the animals saw him.
Pensavano che fosse un vero leone.
They thought he was a real lion.
Il coniglio scappò via.
The rabbit ran away.
Il cervo saltò dietro gli alberi.
The deer jumped behind trees.
La volpe si nascose in una tana.
The fox hid in a hole.
L'asino si sentiva molto felice.
The donkey felt very happy.
Tutti gli animali avevano paura di lui.
All the animals were afraid of him.
Si sentiva forte e importante.
He felt strong and important.
Poi l'asino vide alcuni altri asini.
Then the donkey saw some other donkeys.
Voleva spaventare anche loro.
He wanted to scare them too.
Aprì la bocca per ruggire come un leone.
He opened his mouth to roar like a lion.
Ma invece di un ruggito, fece un forte
But instead of a roar, he made a loud
"HI-HO!"
"HEE-HAW!"
"HI-HO!"
"HEE-HAW!"

It was his donkey sound.

All the animals heard his real voice.

They knew he was not a lion.

He was just a donkey in lion's clothes.

The animals laughed at him.

They were not afraid anymore.

The donkey felt very silly.
