Un uomo compra un asino e lo porta a casa per vedere come si comporterà con i suoi altri animali. Quello che l'asino sceglie di fare determinerà il suo futuro.
Un uomo andò a comprare un asino.
A man went to buy a donkey.
Il venditore disse che l'asino era molto buono e lavorava sodo.
The seller said the donkey was very good and worked hard.
L'uomo voleva prima mettere alla prova l'asino.
The man wanted to test the donkey first.
Portò l'asino alla sua fattoria per alcuni giorni.
He took the donkey to his farm for a few days.
Alla fattoria, l'asino vide molti altri asini.
At the farm, the donkey saw many other donkeys.
Alcuni asini stavano lavorando nei campi.
Some donkeys were working in the fields.
Altri asini stavano trasportando sacchi pesanti.
Other donkeys were carrying heavy bags.
Ma il nuovo asino non voleva lavorare.
But the new donkey did not want to work.
Camminò verso gli asini più pigri.
He walked to the laziest donkeys.
Questi asini erano seduti sotto un albero senza fare niente.
These donkeys were sitting under a tree doing nothing.
Il nuovo asino si sedette con loro.
The new donkey sat with them.
L'uomo guardò questo.
The man watched this.
Vide che il suo nuovo asino scelse di essere pigro.
He saw that his new donkey chose to be lazy.
L'asino non voleva lavorare o aiutare.
The donkey did not want to work or help.
Il giorno dopo, l'uomo riportò l'asino dal venditore.
The next day, the man took the donkey back to the seller.
"Non voglio questo asino,"
"I don't want this donkey,"
disse l'uomo.
said the man.
Non ho nemmeno avuto bisogno di testarlo mentre lavorava.
"I didn't even need to test him working."
Perché no?
"Why not?"
chiese il venditore.
asked the seller.
Ho osservato chi sceglieva come amici,
"I watched who he chose as friends,"
disse l'uomo.
said the man.
"Ha scelto gli asini più pigri."
"He picked the laziest donkeys."
"Un asino che sceglie amici pigri sarà pigro anche lui."
"A donkey who chooses lazy friends will be lazy too."
L'uomo se ne andò senza l'asino.
The man left without the donkey.
