Un joven despierta una mañana y descubre que se ha transformado en un insecto gigante, sorprendiendo a su familia y cambiando su vida para siempre. Este extraño evento obliga a todos los que lo rodean a enfrentar verdades difíciles sobre el amor, el deber y lo que significa ser humano.

My name is Mirror.
Vivo en el baño de la escuela.
I live in the school bathroom.
Cada día, veo muchas cosas.
Every day, I see many things.
Hoy, una nueva chica llegó a la escuela.
Today, a new girl came to school.
Su nombre es Maya.
Her name is Maya.
Me miró y dijo,
She looked at me and said,
"Soy tan fea."
"I am so ugly."
"Odio mi nariz."
"I hate my nose."
Odio mi cabello.
"I hate my hair."
Quería decirle,
I wanted to tell her,
¡Eres hermosa!
"You are beautiful!"
Pero los espejos no pueden hablar.

Maya regresaba todos los días.

Ella me miró y dijo cosas malas sobre sí misma.
She looked at me and said bad things about herself.

"My skin is bad."

"Nobody likes me."

La vi ayudar a un niño pequeño a encontrar su lonchera.
I saw her help a small boy find his lunch box.
La vi darle su lápiz a una amiga.
I saw her give her pencil to a friend.
La vi sonreír cuando leía libros.
I saw her smile when she read books.
Un día, Emma, la amiga de Maya, vino con ella.
One day, Maya's friend Emma came with her.
Emma me miró y dijo,
Emma looked at me and said,
"¡Maya, eres tan hermosa!"
"Maya, you are so pretty!"
"Y tú eres la persona más bondadosa que conozco."
"And you are the kindest person I know."
Maya me miró de nuevo.
Maya looked at me again.
Esta vez, vio algo nuevo.

She saw her helpful hands.

She saw her beautiful smile.
"Tal vez no soy tan mala,"
"Maybe I am not so bad,"
me dijo Maya. Desde ese día, Maya me miró de manera diferente.
Maya said to me. From that day, Maya looked at me differently.
Ella vio su buen corazón en su rostro.
She saw her good heart in her face.
