An eagle flew high in the blue sky.
Era forte e bello.
He was strong and beautiful.

His wings were big and powerful.
Un uomo a terra vide l'aquila.
A man on the ground saw the eagle.
L'uomo aveva un arco e delle frecce.
The man had a bow and arrow.
Voleva catturare l'aquila.
He wanted to catch the eagle.
L'uomo scoccò la sua freccia verso l'aquila in alto.
The man shot his arrow up at the eagle.
La freccia colpì l'aquila.
The arrow hit the eagle.
L'aquila cadde a terra.
The eagle fell down to the ground.
L'aquila era ferita e stava morendo.
The eagle was hurt and dying.
Guardò la freccia nel suo corpo.
He looked at the arrow in his body.
Vide qualcosa che lo rese molto triste.
He saw something that made him very sad.
La freccia aveva delle piume.
The arrow had feathers on it.
Queste piume provengono da un'aquila.
These feathers came from an eagle.
Erano le sue stesse piume che caddero molto tempo fa.
They were his own feathers that fell long ago.
L'aquila disse,
The eagle said,
Che tristezza!
"How sad!"
"Sono ucciso dalle mie stesse piume."
"I am killed by my own feathers."
"La freccia che mi ferisce ha parte di me su di essa."
"The arrow that hurts me has part of me on it."
Poi l'aquila morì.
Then the eagle died.
