Una bambina e suo fratello stanno giocando vicino a un pozzo quando succede qualcosa di inaspettato. La loro madre deve trovare un modo per riportarli a casa sani e salvi.

One day, a little girl falls into my pond.

Her name is Lucy.
Lei non sa nuotare.
She cannot swim.
Lei scende, scende, scende.
She goes down, down, down.

I save her!
La porto nella mia casa sottomarina.
I bring her to my underwater home.
Ha delle belle conchiglie e pesci luminosi.
It has pretty shells and glowing fish.
Lucy non ha paura.
Lucy is not afraid.
Lei pensa che sia bello.
She thinks it is beautiful.
"Grazie per avermi salvato,"
"Thank you for saving me,"
Lucy dice.
Lucy says.
Ma devo andare a casa.
"But I must go home."
Mia madre si preoccuperà.
"My mother will worry."
Sono solo.
I am lonely.
Voglio che Lucy rimanga.
I want Lucy to stay.
Ma vedo le lacrime nei suoi occhi.
But I see tears in her eyes.
Le manca la sua famiglia.
She misses her family.
"Ti porterò a casa,"
"I will take you home,"
Io dico.
I say.
"Ma mi verrai a trovare qualche volta?"
"But will you visit me sometimes?"
Lucy sorride.
Lucy smiles.

"Yes!"
"Possiamo essere amici!"
"We can be friends!"
Riporto Lucy in superficie.
I bring Lucy back to the surface.
Sua madre la abbraccia forte.
Her mother hugs her tight.
Lucy dice a tutti che io sono bravo, non cattivo.
Lucy tells everyone that I am good, not bad.
Ora i bambini vengono a giocare vicino al mio stagno.
Now children come to play by my pond.
Non hanno più paura.
They are not afraid anymore.
Mi portano fiori e cantano canzoni.
They bring me flowers and sing songs.
Non sono solo ora.
I am not lonely now.
Ho molti amici.
I have many friends.
A volte il modo migliore per mantenere gli amici è lasciarli andare. Lo stagno è felice.
Sometimes the best way to keep friends is to let them go. The pond is happy.
I bambini sono felici.
The children are happy.
E io sono il più felice di tutti.
And I am the happiest of all.
