Un soldado pobre descubre una luz azul mágica que cambia su suerte y le da el poder de vengarse de quienes lo lastimaron. Pero usar magia siempre tiene un precio que debe aprender a enfrentar.
Me llamo Lámpara. Soy una lámpara mágica.
My name is Lamp. I am a magic lamp.
Vivo en un pozo profundo y oscuro.
I live in a deep, dark well.
Durante muchos años estuve sola.
For many years, I was alone.
Nadie venía a visitarme.
No one came to visit me.
Estaba triste y sola.
I was sad and lonely.
Un día, un soldado cayó en mi pozo.
One day, a soldier fell into my well.
Estaba herido y enojado.
He was hurt and angry.
Una bruja malvada lo empujó hasta aquí.
A mean witch pushed him down here.
Ella me quería, pero lo dejó para que muriera.
She wanted me, but she left him to die.
El soldado estaba muy triste.
The soldier was very sad.
No tenía comida.
He had no food.
No tenía agua.
He had no water.
Pensó que moriría.
He thought he would die.
Pero entonces me vio.
But then he saw me!

I was glowing with beautiful blue light.

I said.

A talking lamp!
Puedo darte tres deseos,
"I can give you three wishes,"
le dije.
I told him.
Pero primero debes ser mi amigo.
"But first, you must be my friend."
Estoy muy sola.
"I am very lonely."
El soldado sonrió.
The soldier smiled.
Seré tu amigo.
"I will be your friend."
Yo también estoy solo.
"I am lonely too."
Hablamos durante horas.
We talked for hours.
Él me contó sobre la guerra.
He told me about the war.
Me habló de la bruja malvada.
He told me about the mean witch.
Yo le conté mis largos años silenciosos en el pozo.
I told him about my long, quiet years in the well.
En su primer deseo pidió comida y agua.
For his first wish, he asked for food and water.

For his second wish, he asked to get out of the well.

The witch became a frog.
Tuvo que vivir para siempre en un estanque.
She had to live in a pond forever.
El soldado se volvió rico y feliz.
The soldier became rich and happy.
Pero me visitaba cada día.
But he visited me every day.
Éramos los mejores amigos.
We were best friends.
Ahora ya no estoy sola.
Now I am not lonely anymore.

I have a true friend.
