A deer was running fast through the forest.
Myśliwi ścigali go ze swoimi psami.
Hunters were chasing him with their dogs.

The deer was very scared.
Zobaczył dużą winorośl z wieloma liśćmi.
He saw a big vine with many leaves.
Winorośl rosła na wysokim drzewie.
The vine was growing up a tall tree.
Jeleń schował się za gęstymi liśćmi.
The deer hid behind the thick leaves.
Myśliwi nie mogli go zobaczyć.
The hunters could not see him.
Myśliwi szukali wszędzie.
The hunters looked everywhere.
Nie mogli znaleźć jelenia.
They could not find the deer.
Po długim czasie odeszli ze swoimi psami.
After a long time, they went away with their dogs.
Jeleń był szczęśliwy.
The deer was happy.
Teraz był bezpieczny.
He was safe now.
Winorośl uratowała mu życie.
The vine had saved his life.
Ale potem jeleń poczuł głód.
But then the deer felt hungry.
Spojrzał na zielone liście wokół siebie.
He looked at the green leaves around him.
Wyglądały smacznie.
They looked good to eat.
Jeleń zaczął jeść liście winorośli.
The deer started to eat the vine's leaves.
Jadł coraz więcej liści.
He ate more and more leaves.
Liście były bardzo smaczne.
The leaves were very tasty.
Wkrótce winorośl nie miała już liści.
Soon, the vine had no leaves left.
Jeleń nie mógł się już schować.
The deer could not hide anymore.
Teraz wszyscy mogli go zobaczyć.
Everyone could see him now.
Myśliwi wrócili.
The hunters came back.
Od razu zobaczyli jelenia.
They saw the deer right away.
Łatwo go złapali.
They caught him easily.
Jeleń był bardzo smutny.
The deer was very sad.
Powiedział:
He said,
"Winorośl mi pomogła."
"The vine helped me."
"Ale ja skrzywdziłem winorośl."
"But I hurt the vine."
"Teraz mam kłopoty, bo nie byłem wdzięczny."
"Now I am in trouble because I was not thankful."
