The Red and the Black
Un giovane uomo di una famiglia povera sogna di salire al potere e alla ricchezza nella Francia del XIX secolo. La sua ambizione lo conduce attraverso relazioni pericolose con due donne molto diverse mentre cerca di scalare la scala sociale.

Red always wants to be the star.
"Guardami!"
"Look at me!"
Red dice.
Red says.
Faccio dei bei fiori e cuori.
"I make pretty flowers and hearts."
"I bambini mi amano di più!"
"Children love me most!"
Nero si sente triste.
Black feels sad.
"Nessuno mi sceglie,"
"Nobody picks me,"
Nero dice.
Black says.
"Pensano che io sia noioso."
"They think I am boring."
Un giorno, una bambina di nome Emma viene a disegnare.
One day, a little girl named Emma comes to draw.
Prende prima Red.
She picks up Red first.
Rosso è così felice!
Red is so happy!
Emma disegna un bellissimo giardino di rose con Red.
Emma draws a beautiful rose garden with Red.
"Vedi?"
"See?"
Rosso dice a Nero.
Red tells Black.
"Ti ho detto che sono il migliore!"
"I told you I am the best!"
Ma poi Emma aggrotta la fronte.
But then Emma frowns.
"Manca qualcosa,"
"Something is missing,"
dice lei.
she says.
Lei prende Black. Black ha paura.
She picks up Black. Black is scared.
"Cosa posso fare?"
"What can I do?"
"Faccio solo cose scure."
"I only make dark things."
Emma usa il nero per disegnare i gambi delle rose.
Emma uses Black to draw stems for the roses.
Poi disegna il terreno.
Then she draws soil.
Poi disegna un piccolo cucciolo che gioca in giardino.
Then she draws a little puppy playing in the garden.

The picture looks amazing!
"Wow!"
"Wow!"
dice Red.
says Red.
"Nero, hai fatto sembrare vere le mie rose!"
"Black, you made my roses look real!"
"Senza di te, stavano solo fluttuando nell'aria."
"Without you, they were just floating in the air."
"E senza di te, i miei steli non avevano nulla di bello da sostenere."
Black smiles.
Nero sorride.
"And without you, my stems had nothing beautiful to hold up."

Emma hangs the picture on her wall.
Rosso e Nero si vedono lavorare insieme nel disegno.
Red and Black see themselves working together in the drawing.
"Siamo entrambi importanti,"
"We are both important,"
dice Red.
says Red.
"Sì,"
"Yes,"
dice Black.
says Black.
"Together we make magic."
"Insieme facciamo magia."
From that day, Red and Black become the best team.
Da quel giorno, Rosso e Nero diventano la migliore squadra.
They learn that being different makes them stronger together.
Imparano che essere diversi li rende più forti insieme.
The other crayons cheer.
Gli altri pastelli esultano.
The crayon box is happy again.
La scatola dei pastelli è di nuovo felice.
