The Prince and the Pauper
Due ragazzi che si assomigliano perfettamente ma vivono vite completamente diverse si incontrano per caso nell'antica Inghilterra. Uno è un principe che vive nel lusso, mentre l'altro è un ragazzo povero che lotta per le strade.
Sono uno specchio magico nel palazzo.
I am a magic mirror in the palace.
Ogni giorno, vedo molte cose.
Every day, I see many things.
Oggi è molto strano.
Today is very strange.
Stamattina, il Principe Alex mi guarda.
This morning, Prince Alex looks at me.
Lui è triste.
He is sad.
"Voglio essere libero,"
"I want to be free,"
dice.
he says.
"Voglio giocare fuori come gli altri bambini."
"I want to play outside like other children."
Più tardi, un ragazzo povero viene a pulirmi.
Later, a poor boy comes to clean me.
Il suo nome è Sam.
His name is Sam.
Sembra proprio il Principe Alex!
He looks just like Prince Alex!
Stessa faccia, stessi capelli, stessi occhi.
Same face, same hair, same eyes.
Sam dice,
Sam says,
"Vorrei avere cibo ogni giorno."
"I wish I had food every day."
"Vorrei avere un letto caldo."
"I wish I had a warm bed."
Poi succede qualcosa di magico.
Then something magical happens.
I ragazzi si incontrano nella mia stanza.
The boys meet in my room.
Si guardano l'un l'altro.
They look at each other.
Sono molto sorpresi.
They are very surprised.
"Tu sembri come me!"
"You look like me!"
dice il Principe Alex.
says Prince Alex.
"Anche tu mi assomigli!"
"You look like me too!"
dice Sam. Hanno un'idea.
says Sam. They have an idea.
"Cambiamoci i vestiti,"
"Let's change clothes,"
says Prince Alex.
dice il Principe Alex.
"You can be the prince."
"Io posso essere il ragazzo povero."
"I can be the poor boy."
"Io posso essere il ragazzo povero."
They change clothes.
Si cambiano i vestiti.
Now Sam wears the prince
Ora Sam indossa i vestiti
's beautiful clothes.'

But then the guards come.

They take Prince Alex away!

They think he is Sam.

They think he is Prince Alex. For many days, this happens.

Prince Alex lives on the streets.

He is hungry and cold.

He learns about poor people's problems.

Sam lives in the palace.

He is scared but tries to be a good prince.

He helps poor people because he knows their problems.
Aiuta i poveri perché conosce i loro problemi.
I watch everything.
Osservo tutto.
I want to help, but I cannot speak to people.
Voglio aiutare, ma non posso parlare con le persone.
One day, both boys come to my room again.
They are happy to see each other.
"I learned so much,"
says Prince Alex.
"Poor people need help."
"I want to help them when I am king."
"Voglio aiudarli quando sarò re."
"I learned too,"
"Ho imparato anch'io,"
says Sam.
dice Sam.
"Being a prince is hard work."
"Essere un principe è un lavoro duro."
"But I want to help you help people."

They change clothes again.
Prince Alex becomes the prince.
Sam becomes Sam.
But now they are friends.
Prince Alex makes Sam his helper.
Together, they make life better for poor people.
I am happy.
Sometimes, magic happens when people learn to understand each other.
