The stag and his reflection
In una foresta tranquilla, un cervo con magnifiche corna va a bere acqua da uno stagno limpido. Mentre guarda il suo riflesso, inizia a pensare al suo aspetto. Non sa che la sua giornata sta per prendere una piega inaspettata che gli insegnerà una lezione preziosa.
C'era una volta un cervo che viveva in una bellissima foresta.
Once upon a time, there was a stag who lived in a beautiful forest.
Un giorno, andò a uno stagno limpido per bere un po' d'acqua.
One day, he went to a clear pond to drink some water.
Mentre si chinava, vide il suo riflesso nell'acqua.
As he bent down, he saw his reflection in the water.
Il cervo ammirava le sue corna forti e belle.
The stag admired his strong and handsome antlers.
"Oh, quanto sono magnifiche le mie corna!" disse tra sé e sé.
"Oh, how magnificent my antlers are!" he said to himself.
Ma poi guardò le sue gambe e si sentì triste.
But then he looked at his legs and felt sad.
"Le mie gambe sono così magre e brutte," pensò.
"My legs are so thin and ugly," he thought.
Proprio in quel momento, un leone apparve da dietro i cespugli.
Just then, a lion appeared from behind the bushes.
Il cervo corse via velocemente per mettersi in salvo.
The stag quickly ran away to save himself.
Le sue gambe magre e veloci lo aiutarono a scappare dal leone.
His thin and fast legs helped him escape from the lion.
Corse profondamente nella foresta dove il leone non poteva seguirlo.
He ran deep into the forest where the lion couldn't follow.
Ma mentre correva, le sue corna si impigliarono tra i rami di un albero.
But as he ran, his antlers got stuck in the branches of a tree.
Il cervo lottò e si sforzò molto per liberarsi, ma non ci riuscì.
The stag struggled and tried hard to free himself, but he couldn't.
Il leone lo raggiunse e ruggì forte.
The lion caught up with him and roared loudly.
Il cervo si rese conto del suo errore.
The stag realized his mistake.

His thin legs, which he thought were ugly, had saved his life.
