I live in a big tree near a castle.

Every day, I watch three brothers.

He does not wake up. The third brother is kind.

He does not try to catch me.
Me trae migas de pan.
He brings me bread crumbs.

He talks to me softly.
Me cuenta sus problemas.
He tells me about his problems.
“Mi padre está enfermo,”
"My father is sick,"
dice.
he says.
“Cree que puedes ayudarlo a sentirse mejor.”
"He thinks you can help him feel better."
Me da pena este chico.
I feel sorry for this boy.
Tiene un buen corazón.
He has a good heart.
Un día vuelo hasta su mano.
One day, I fly down to his hand.
Está muy sorprendido.
He is very surprised.
No me voy volando.
I do not fly away.
“¿Vendrás conmigo?”
"Will you come with me?"

"I will not put you in a cage."

The king is old and sad.

He sees me and smiles for the first time in months.

"You caught the golden bird!"

he says to his youngest son.
“No, padre.”
"No, father."
“Ella vino a mí porque fui amable.”
"She came to me because I was kind."

My voice makes him happy.

He feels better, but not because of magic.

The king learns something important.
