"I did not move."

Ich wollte meinen Kopf nicht wenden.

"I did not want to turn my head."

Der zweite Sohn sagte,

The second son said,

"Nein, ich bin fauler!"

"No, I am lazier!"

"Letzte Woche hatte ich so großen Hunger."

"Last week, I was so hungry."

Da war Brot neben meinem Bett.

"There was bread next to my bed."

"But I did not want to reach for it."

Ich blieb drei Tage lang hungrig.

"I stayed hungry for three days."

Der dritte Sohn sagte nichts.
