Alice atravessa um espelho para um mundo estranho ao contrário, onde tudo funciona de forma inversa. Ela conhece personagens incomuns e joga uma partida de xadrez gigante enquanto tenta encontrar o caminho de volta para casa.

As palavras aparecem ao contrário nas placas.
Words are backwards on signs.
As pessoas também andam de costas.
People walk backwards too.
Alice encontra uma rainha vermelha.
Alice meets a red queen.
A rainha é muito mandona.
The queen is very bossy.
Você precisa correr rápido para ficar no mesmo lugar aqui,
"You must run fast to stay in the same place here,"
diz a rainha.
says the queen.
Se quiser ir a outro lugar, precisa correr duas vezes mais rápido!
"If you want to go somewhere else, you must run twice as fast!"
Alice corre sem parar.
Alice runs and runs.
Mas continua no mesmo lugar.
But she stays in the same spot.

Depois, Alice encontra dois irmãos gordinhos.
