But I just want to eat cookies and watch TV. One day, Mom gets very angry.

Ela grita tão alto que a Rainha a escuta do grande castelo.

She shouts so loud that the Queen hears her from the big castle.

A Rainha vem à nossa casa.

The Queen comes to our house.

"Por que estás a gritar?"

"Why are you shouting?"

pergunta a Rainha. A mamãe mente!

"My daughter Luna spins so much thread!"

"She never stops!"

A Rainha me leva ao castelo.

O primeiro aposento é imenso.

Tem montanhas de lã.

Sento-me e começo a chorar.

I sit down and start to cry.

De repente, três mulheres muito estranhas entram.

Suddenly, three very strange women walk in.

A primeira mulher tem um pé gigante.

The first woman has one giant foot.

A segunda mulher tem um nariz muito comprido.

The second woman has a very long nose.

A terceira mulher tem um polegar enorme.

The third woman has a huge thumb.

"Por que você está chorando?"

"Why are you crying?"

perguntam.

they ask.

"Devo fiar toda esta lã em três dias ou não me casarei com o príncipe,"

"I must spin all this wool in three days or I will not marry the prince,"

digo eu.

I say.

"Nós te ajudaremos,"

"We will help you,"

diz a mulher do pé grande.

says the woman with the big foot.

"Mas você deve nos convidar para o seu casamento."

"But you must invite us to your wedding."

"E vocês devem nos chamar de suas tias."

"And you must call us your aunts."

"Sim!"

"Yes!"

"Sim!"

"Yes!"

"Eu prometo!"

"I promise!"

Eu digo.

I say.

As três mulheres trabalham muito rapidamente.

The three women work very fast.

Suas mãos se movem como mágica.

Their hands move like magic.

Em três dias, todos os três quartos estão cheios de fio belo.

In three days, all three rooms are full of beautiful thread.

A Rainha fica tão feliz.

The Queen is so happy.

"Você se casará com meu filho amanhã!"

"You will marry my son tomorrow!"

ela diz.

No casamento, lembro-me da minha promessa.

Convido as três mulheres estranhas.

O príncipe as vê e pergunta,

O príncipe olha para o pé gigante da primeira mulher.

"De tanto fiar o dia todo."

"A roda de fiar faz meu pé ficar grande,"

"The spinning wheel makes my foot big,"

ela diz.

O príncipe olha para o nariz comprido da segunda mulher.

The prince looks at the second woman's long nose.

"Tia, por que o seu nariz é tão comprido?"

"Aunt, why is your nose so long?"

"De fiar o fio."

"From spinning thread."

"Eu sempre sinto o cheiro do fio."

"I always smell the thread."

"Faz meu nariz crescer,"

"It makes my nose grow,"

ela diz.

O príncipe olha para o polegar enorme da terceira mulher.

The prince looks at the third woman's huge thumb.

"Tia, por que o seu polegar é tão grande?"

"Aunt, why is your thumb so big?"

"De fiar linha o dia todo."

"From spinning thread all day."

"Isso deixa meu polegar muito grande,"

"It makes my thumb very big,"

ela diz.

she says.

O príncipe se volta para mim.

The prince turns to me.

Seu rosto está pálido.

His face is white.

"Luna, você nunca mais deve fiar!"

"Luna, you must never spin again!"

"Eu não quero que você fique parecida com suas tias!"

"I do not want you to look like your aunts!"

Eu sorrio.

I smile.

"Claro, meu querido marido."

"Nunca mais voltarei a fiar."

"I will never spin again."

E nunca mais fiz.
