Anansi and His Six Sons
Anansi l'araignée a six fils, chacun avec un pouvoir spécial pour aider les autres. Quand Anansi se trouve en grand danger, il découvre lequel de ses fils viendra le sauver.
Anansi l'araignée avait six fils.
Anansi the spider had six sons.
Chaque fils avait un pouvoir spécial.
Each son had a special power.
Un jour, Anansi partit pour un long voyage.
One day, Anansi went on a long trip.
Il marcha loin de chez lui.
He walked far from home.
Mais quelque chose de mauvais arriva.
But something bad happened.
Anansi tomba dans une rivière.
Anansi fell into a river.
Un gros poisson l'a mangé.
A big fish ate him.
Les six fils étaient inquiets.
The six sons were worried.
Leur père ne rentrait pas à la maison.
Their father did not come home.
Le premier fils s'appelait Voir le Danger.
The first son was called See Trouble.
Il pouvait voir le danger de loin.
He could see danger from far away.
« Père est en danger ! »
"Father is in trouble!"
dit-il.
he said.
« Un gros poisson l'a mangé ! »
"A big fish ate him!"
Le deuxième fils s'appelait Constructeur de Routes.
The second son was called Road Builder.
Il construisit une route vers la rivière très rapidement.
He made a road to the river very fast.
Le troisième fils s'appelait Buveur de Rivière.
The third son was called River Drinker.
Il but toute l'eau de la rivière.
He drank all the water in the river.
Le quatrième fils s'appelait Écorcheur de Gibier.
The fourth son was called Game Skinner.
Il ouvrit le gros poisson.
He cut open the big fish.
Le cinquième fils s'appelait Lanceur de Pierres.
The fifth son was called Stone Thrower.
Il lança des pierres sur un autre danger.
He threw rocks at another danger.
Le sixième fils s'appelait Coussin.
The sixth son was called Cushion.
Il était doux comme un oreiller.
He was soft like a pillow.
Les fils trouvèrent leur père à l'intérieur du poisson.
The sons found their father inside the fish.
Anansi était en vie !
Anansi was alive!
Ils étaient très heureux.
They were very happy.
Mais ensuite un gros oiseau descendit du ciel.
But then a big bird came down from the sky.
L'oiseau voulait emporter Anansi.
The bird wanted to take Anansi away.
Lanceur de Pierres lança des pierres sur l'oiseau.
Stone Thrower threw rocks at the bird.
L'oiseau lâcha Anansi. Anansi tombait rapidement.
The bird dropped Anansi. Anansi was falling down fast.
Mais Coussin le rattrapa en toute sécurité.
But Cushion caught him safely.
Anansi était en sécurité.
Anansi was safe.
Il était fier de ses fils.
He was proud of his sons.
Ils ont tous travaillé ensemble pour le sauver.
They all worked together to save him.
Cette nuit-là, Anansi trouva une boule de lumière brillante dans la forêt.
That night, Anansi found a bright ball of light in the forest.
Elle était très belle.
It was very beautiful.
« Je veux donner cela à mon meilleur fils, »
"I want to give this to my best son,"
dit Anansi. Mais lequel des fils était le meilleur ?
said Anansi. But which son was the best?
Chaque fils a aidé à sauver leur père.
Each son helped save their father.
Anansi ne pouvait pas choisir.
Anansi could not choose.
Tous ses fils étaient importants.
All his sons were important.
Alors Anansi lança la boule de lumière dans le ciel.
So Anansi threw the ball of light up into the sky.
Elle devint la lune.
It became the moon.
Maintenant, tout le monde peut voir la belle lune.
Now everyone can see the beautiful moon.
Elle nous rappelle que nous sommes tous importants quand nous travaillons ensemble.
It reminds us that we are all important when we work together.
