He wanted to show everyone his magic rope.

Il appela tous les animaux du village.

He called all the animals in the village.

« Venez voir ! »

"Come and see!"

cria Anansi.

Anansi shouted.

« J'ai la corde la plus extraordinaire du monde ! »

"I have the most amazing rope in the world!"

Tous les animaux vinrent regarder.

All the animals came to watch.

Il y avait des lapins, des oiseaux, des singes et des éléphants.

There were rabbits, birds, monkeys, and elephants.

Ils s'assirent tous pour voir le spectacle d'Anansi.

They all sat down to see Anansi's show.

Anansi lança la corde dans les airs.

Anansi threw the rope into the air.

La corde dansa et se mouvait comme un serpent.

The rope danced and moved like a snake.

Il voulait faire disparaître la corde et la faire revenir.

He wanted to make the rope disappear and come back.

Anansi prononça mal les mots magiques.

Anansi said the magic words wrong.

Soudain, la corde se rompit !

Suddenly, the rope broke!

Anansi tomba du ciel.

Anansi fell down from the sky.

Il s'écrasa lourdement sur le sol.

He landed hard on the ground.

Tous les animaux accoururent pour l'aider.

All the animals ran to help him.

Anansi n'était pas gravement blessé, mais il se sentait très ridicule.

Anansi was not hurt badly, but he felt very silly.

"Je suis désolé,"

"I am sorry,"

dit Anansi.

À partir de ce jour, Anansi apprit à être heureux avec ce qu'il avait.

Il continuait à faire des tours de magie, mais il était plus prudent.

He still did magic tricks, but he was more careful.

He never tried to show off too much again.
