He was just a small spider.

One day, a big strong man came to the village.

His name was Kweku.

He was very tall and had big muscles.

« J'entends dire que quelqu'un ici se croit très fort, »

Kweku said.

« Je veux lutter contre lui. »

"I want to wrestle with him."

Tous les gens regardèrent Anansi.

All the people looked at Anansi.

Anansi eut peur, mais il ne pouvait pas refuser. Tout le monde le regardait.

Anansi felt scared, but he could not say no. Everyone was watching him.

« Oui, je vais lutter contre toi »,

"Yes, I will wrestle you,"

dit Anansi.

Anansi said.

Personne ne pouvait voir le trou maintenant.

Le lendemain, tout le monde vint regarder.

Anansi dit à Kweku de le retrouver dans la forêt.

Anansi told Kweku to meet him in the forest.

« Nous lutterons ici, »

"We will wrestle here,"

dit Anansi en désignant le trou recouvert.

Anansi said, pointing to the covered hole.

Kweku se dirigea vers l'endroit.

Kweku walked to the spot.

Il tomba directement dans le trou profond !

He fell right into the deep hole!

Il ne pouvait pas sortir.

He could not get out.

"Help me!"

Kweku cria depuis le trou.

Kweku called from the hole.
