Anansi e Seus Seis Filhos

Anansi, a aranha, tinha seis filhos.

Anansi the spider had six sons.

Cada filho tinha um poder especial.

Each son had a special power.

Um dia, Anansi foi em uma longa viagem.

One day, Anansi went on a long trip.

Ele caminhou longe de casa.

He walked far from home.

Mas algo ruim aconteceu.

But something bad happened.

Anansi caiu em um rio.

Anansi fell into a river.

Um grande peixe o comeu.

A big fish ate him.

Os seis filhos estavam preocupados.

The six sons were worried.

Seu pai não voltou para casa.

Their father did not come home.

O primeiro filho se chamava Veja Problemas.

The first son was called See Trouble.

Ele podia ver o perigo de longe.

He could see danger from far away.

Pai está em apuros!

"Father is in trouble!"

ele disse.

Um grande peixe o comeu!

"A big fish ate him!"

O segundo filho se chamava Construtor de Estradas.

The second son was called Road Builder.

Ele fez uma estrada até o rio muito rápido.

He made a road to the river very fast.

O terceiro filho se chamava Bebedor de Rio.

The third son was called River Drinker.

Ele bebeu toda a água do rio.

He drank all the water in the river.

O quarto filho se chamava Despelador de Jogo.

The fourth son was called Game Skinner.

Ele abriu o grande peixe.

He cut open the big fish.

O quinto filho chamava-se Atirador de Pedras.

The fifth son was called Stone Thrower.

Ele atirou pedras em outro perigo.

He threw rocks at another danger.

O sexto filho chamava-se Almofada.

The sixth son was called Cushion.

Ele era macio como um travesseiro.

He was soft like a pillow.

Os filhos encontraram seu pai dentro do peixe.

The sons found their father inside the fish.

Anansi estava vivo!

Anansi was alive!

Eles estavam muito felizes.

They were very happy.

Mas então um grande pássaro desceu do céu.

But then a big bird came down from the sky.

O pássaro queria levar Anansi embora.

The bird wanted to take Anansi away.

Atirador de Pedras atirou pedras no pássaro.

Stone Thrower threw rocks at the bird.

O pássaro soltou Anansi. Anansi estava caindo rapidamente.

The bird dropped Anansi. Anansi was falling down fast.

Mas Almofada o pegou em segurança.

But Cushion caught him safely.

Anansi estava seguro.

Anansi was safe.

Ele estava orgulhoso de seus filhos.

He was proud of his sons.

Todos trabalharam juntos para salvá-lo.

They all worked together to save him.

Naquela noite, Anansi encontrou uma bola de luz brilhante na floresta.

That night, Anansi found a bright ball of light in the forest.

Era muito bonita.

It was very beautiful.

Eu quero dar isso ao meu melhor filho,

"I want to give this to my best son,"

disse Anansi. Mas qual filho era o melhor?

said Anansi. But which son was the best?

Cada filho ajudou a salvar seu pai.

Each son helped save their father.

Anansi não conseguiu escolher.

Anansi could not choose.

Todos os seus filhos eram importantes.

All his sons were important.

Então Anansi lançou a bola de luz para o céu.

So Anansi threw the ball of light up into the sky.

Ela se tornou a lua.

It became the moon.

Agora todos podem ver a linda lua.

Now everyone can see the beautiful moon.
