One day, Anansi met an old man in the forest.

The old man had a magic bag.

"I collect memories,"
disse il vecchio.
said the old man.

"I take people's bad memories away."
"Poi si sentono felici."
"Then they feel happy."
Anansi pensò che fosse meraviglioso.
Anansi thought this was wonderful.
"Puoi prendere anche i miei brutti ricordi?"
"Can you take my bad memories too?"
chiese.

The old man smiled.

"What do you want?"

"I want one good memory for every bad memory I take,"

He made the same bad choices again and again.
Anansi also forgot happy times with his family.
He forgot the joy of helping others.
He forgot what made him laugh.

"I want my memories back!"
Anansi disse al vecchio.
Anansi told the old man.
"Tutti?"
"All of them?"

Il vecchio restituì ad Anansi tutti i suoi ricordi.
The old man gave Anansi back all his memories.
"Sei saggio,"
"You are wise,"
disse.
he said.

"Our memories make us who we are."

"Both happy and sad memories are important."
Da quel giorno, Anansi non cercò mai più di dimenticare il suo passato.
