He wanted food but did not want to work for it. One day, Anansi walked in the forest.

He saw an old man sleeping under a tree.

Next to the man was a magic stick.
Anansi era molto silenzioso.
Anansi was very quiet.
Prese il bastone e scappò via velocemente.
He took the stick and ran away fast.
A casa, Anansi disse al bastone,
At home, Anansi said to the stick,
"Bacchetta magica, portami del cibo!"
"Magic stick, bring me food!"
Il bastone iniziò a danzare.
The stick started to dance.
Presto, un sacco di cibo delizioso apparve sulla tavola.
Soon, lots of good food appeared on the table.

There was rice, meat, fruit, and bread.

Anansi ate and ate until his belly was full.

He was very happy.

I suoi amici risero di lui.
His friends laughed at him.
Proprio in quel momento, il vecchio arrivò a casa di Anansi.
Just then, the old man came to Anansi's house.
"Quello è il mio bastone,"
"That is my stick,"
disse il vecchio.
said the old man.

"You took it from me."
Anansi si sentì molto male.
Anansi felt very bad.

His face turned red.

The old man took his stick back.

Anansi imparò la lezione.
Anansi learned his lesson.
Da quel giorno, lavorò duramente per il suo cibo e non rubò mai più.
From that day, he worked hard for his food and never stole again.
