Anansi could not climb up to get the nuts.

Anansi pensou num plano.

Anansi thought of a plan.

Ele chamou o Elefante.

He called to Elephant.

"Amigo Elefante, você pode me ajudar?"

"Friend Elephant, can you help me?"

"Quero as nozes de cola desta árvore."

"I want the kola nuts from this tree."

"Você é grande e forte."

"You are big and strong."

"Você pode balançar a árvore para mim?"

"Can you shake the tree for me?"

O Elefante era bondoso.

Elephant was kind.

Ele empurrou a árvore com seu grande corpo.

He pushed the tree with his big body.

Ele a balançou com força.

He shook it hard.

Muitas nozes de cola caíram no chão.

Many kola nuts fell down to the ground.

"Obrigado, Elefante,"

disse Anansi.

He went back to the kola tree.

Desta vez ele viu Macaco na árvore.

This time he saw Monkey in the tree.

"Amigo Macaco,"

"Friend Monkey,"

chamou Anansi.

"Você pode me ajudar?"

"Por favor, jogue algumas nozes de cola para baixo."

O Macaco também era bondoso.

No dia seguinte, Elefante e Macaco esperaram junto à árvore de cola.

The next day, Elephant and Monkey waited by the kola tree.

Em breve, Anansi voltou.

Soon Anansi came back.

Elefante e Macaco riram.

Elephant and Monkey laughed.
