Anansi e a Poção do Amor

Anansi, a aranha, era muito esperta.

Anansi the spider was very smart.

Mas ele também era muito preguiçoso.

Ele não queria trabalhar duro para encontrar uma esposa.

Um dia, Anansi ouviu falar de uma poção mágica do amor.

One day, Anansi heard about a magic love potion.

Esta poção poderia fazer qualquer mulher se apaixonar por ele.

Anansi achou que isso era perfeito.

Anansi thought this was perfect.

Ele foi até a velha sábia na floresta.

He went to the old wise woman in the forest.

"Por favor, dê-me a poção do amor,"

"Please give me the love potion,"

disse ele.

Anansi pegou a poção e foi para a aldeia.

Ele viu uma bela mulher chamada Asha.

Ela era gentil e trabalhava arduamente todos os dias.

She was kind and worked hard every day.

Anansi colocou três gotas da poção na água de Asha.

Anansi put three drops of the potion in Asha's water.

Logo, Asha se apaixonou por ele.

Soon, Asha fell in love with him.

Casaram-se rapidamente.

They got married quickly.

Mas Anansi era ganancioso.

But Anansi was greedy.

Ele pensou,

"Se três gotas funcionaram tão bem, mais gotas farão com que ela me ame ainda mais."

"If three drops worked so well, more drops will make her love me even more."

Então ele colocou toda a garrafa de poção na comida dela.

So he put the whole bottle of potion in her food.

Na manhã seguinte, o amor de Asha estava forte demais.

The next morning, Asha's love was too strong.

Ela seguiu Anansi por toda parte.

She followed Anansi everywhere.

Ela não o deixaria ir a lugar algum sozinho.

She would not let him go anywhere alone.

Ela o observava o tempo todo.

She watched him all the time.

"Eu te amo tanto,"

"I love you so much,"

ela disse.

"Preciso estar contigo a cada segundo."

"I must be with you every second."

Anansi não conseguia comer sozinho.

Anansi could not eat alone.

Ele não conseguia dormir sozinho.

He could not sleep alone.

Ele não conseguia nem ir ao banheiro sozinho.

He could not even go to the bathroom alone.

"Isso é demais!"

"This is too much!"

gritou Anansi.

cried Anansi.

Ele correu de volta para a mulher sábia.

He ran back to the wise woman.

"Por favor, ajude-me!"

"Please help me!"

disse ele.

"Faça a poção mais fraca!"

"Make the potion weaker!"

A sábia mulher balançou a cabeça.

The wise woman shook her head.

"Eu te disse para usar apenas três gotas."

"I told you to use only three drops."

Você não escutou.

"You did not listen."

"Agora você deve viver com o que fez."

"Now you must live with what you have done."

Anansi aprendeu que ser ganancioso traz problemas.

Anansi learned that being greedy brings trouble.

Ele também aprendeu que o amor verdadeiro não pode vir da magia.

He also learned that real love cannot come from magic.

Deve vir do coração.

It must come from the heart.

A partir daquele dia, Anansi nunca mais pôde ficar sozinho.
