Alicia atraviesa un espejo hacia un mundo extraño y al revés donde todo funciona de manera contraria. Conoce personajes inusuales y juega una partida de ajedrez gigante mientras trata de encontrar el camino a casa.
Alicia se sienta en su habitación.

She looks at her mirror.
El espejo es grande y brillante.
The mirror is big and shiny.
«Me pregunto qué hay detrás del espejo»,
"I wonder what is behind the mirror,"
piensa Alicia.
Alice thinks.
Toca el espejo con el dedo.
She touches the mirror with her finger.
¡Ocurre algo extraño!
Something strange happens!
Su dedo atraviesa el espejo como si fuera agua.

"Oh my!"
dice Alicia.

The queen is very bossy.
«Debes correr rápido para quedarte en el mismo lugar aquí»,
"You must run fast to stay in the same place here,"
dice la reina.
says the queen.
«Si quieres ir a otro lugar, debes correr el doble de rápido.»
"If you want to go somewhere else, you must run twice as fast!"
Alicia corre y corre.
Alice runs and runs.
Pero se queda en el mismo lugar.
But she stays in the same spot.
Este lugar tiene reglas extrañas.
This place has funny rules.
Después, Alicia conoce a dos hermanos gorditos.
Next, Alice meets two fat brothers.
Le cuentan un poema tonto sobre un morsa y unas ostras.
They tell her a silly poem about a walrus and some oysters.

The walrus tricks the oysters and eats them all up.

Se encuentra con un caballero blanco sobre un caballo.
She meets a white knight on a horse.
El caballero se cae de su caballo muchas veces.
The knight falls off his horse many times.
Pero es muy amable con Alicia.
But he is very kind to Alice.
«Te ayudaré a convertirte en una reina»,
"I will help you become a queen,"
dice el caballero.
says the knight.
Alicia camina por un gran tablero de ajedrez.
Alice walks across a big chess board.
Es como una pieza de ajedrez.
She is like a chess piece.
Se mueve de casilla en casilla.
She moves from square to square.
Cada casilla es diferente.
Each square is different.
Finalmente, Alicia llega al final.
Finally, Alice reaches the end.
Se pone una corona en la cabeza.
She puts a crown on her head.

El espejo vuelve a ser normal.

Todo había sido un sueño.
