A Raposa e as Uvas

Era uma vez, numa floresta verdejante, vivia uma raposa astuta.

Once upon a time, in a lush green forest, there lived a clever fox.

Esta raposa era conhecida em todo o lado pela sua inteligência afiada e natureza astuta.

This fox was known far and wide for his sharp wit and cunning nature.

Numa tarde ensolarada, enquanto passeava pela floresta, deparou-se com uma bela vinha cheia de uvas maduras e suculentas. Os olhos da raposa arregalaram-se de alegria ao ver as uvas a brilhar à luz do sol.

One sunny afternoon, as he was wandering through the woods, he came across a beautiful vineyard filled with ripe, juicy grapes. The fox's eyes widened with delight as he saw the grapes glistening in the sunlight.

Oh, que maravilhoso!", pensou ele.

"Oh, how wonderful!" he thought.

Aquelas uvas parecem tão deliciosas.

"Those grapes look so delicious.

Eu tenho de as ter!" Ele tentou saltar e alcançar as uvas, mas elas estavam demasiado altas.

I must have them!" He tried to jump and reach the grapes, but they were too high.

Ele tentou novamente, saltando com todas as suas forças, mas, mesmo assim, não conseguiu alcançá-las.

He tried again, leaping with all his might, but still, he couldn't reach them.

A raposa tentou mais uma vez, colocando toda a sua força no salto, mas, infelizmente, as uvas continuaram fora do seu alcance. Sentindo-se cansado e um pouco desapontado, a raposa sentou-se e olhou para as uvas.

The fox tried one more time, putting all his strength into the jump, but alas, the grapes remained out of his reach. Feeling tired and a bit disappointed, the fox sat down and looked up at the grapes.

Pensou por um momento e depois disse para si mesmo: "Bem, eu não queria mesmo aquelas uvas.

He thought for a moment and then said to himself, "Well, I didn't really want those grapes anyway.

Provavelmente estão azedas e não valem o esforço." Com isso, a raposa foi-se embora, sentindo-se contente com a sua decisão.

They're probably sour and not worth the effort." With that, the fox walked away, feeling content with his decision.

E assim, ele aprendeu que, às vezes, é melhor apreciar o que podes ter do que desejar o que não podes. E essa, meus queridos alunos, é a história da raposa e das uvas.

And so, he learned that sometimes, it's better to appreciate what you can have rather than desire what you can't. And that, my dear students, is the story of the fox and the grapes.

Ensina-nos que, quando não podemos ter algo, podemos convencer-nos de que não o queríamos, em primeiro lugar.

It teaches us that when we can't have something, we might convince ourselves that we didn't want it in the first place.
