Um soldado pobre descobre uma luz azul mágica que muda sua sorte e lhe dá o poder de se vingar daqueles que o prejudicaram. Mas usar magia sempre tem um preço que ele deve aprender a enfrentar.
Meu nome é Lâmpada. Sou uma lâmpada mágica.
My name is Lamp. I am a magic lamp.
Eu moro em um poço fundo e escuro.
I live in a deep, dark well.
Por muitos anos fiquei sozinha.
For many years, I was alone.
Ninguém vinha me visitar.
No one came to visit me.
Eu estava triste e solitária.
I was sad and lonely.
Um dia, um soldado caiu no meu poço.
One day, a soldier fell into my well.
Ele estava ferido e bravo.
He was hurt and angry.
Uma bruxa má o empurrou para cá.
A mean witch pushed him down here.
Ela me queria, mas o deixou para morrer.
She wanted me, but she left him to die.
O soldado ficou muito triste.
The soldier was very sad.
Ele não tinha comida.
He had no food.
Ele não tinha água.
He had no water.
Achou que iria morrer.
He thought he would die.
Mas então ele me viu!
But then he saw me!
Eu brilhava com uma linda luz azul.
I was glowing with beautiful blue light.
Olá,
"Hello,"
eu disse.
I said.
Sou uma lâmpada mágica.
"I am a magic lamp."
Posso ajudar você.
"I can help you."
O soldado ficou surpreso.
The soldier was surprised.
Uma lâmpada falante!
A talking lamp!
Posso conceder três desejos,
"I can give you three wishes,"
contei a ele.
I told him.
Mas primeiro você precisa ser meu amigo.
"But first, you must be my friend."
Estou muito sozinha.
"I am very lonely."
O soldado sorriu.
The soldier smiled.
Serei seu amigo.
"I will be your friend."
Também estou sozinho.
"I am lonely too."
Conversamos por horas.
We talked for hours.
Ele me contou sobre a guerra.
He told me about the war.
Ele me contou sobre a bruxa má.
He told me about the mean witch.
Eu contei a ele sobre meus longos anos silenciosos no poço.
I told him about my long, quiet years in the well.
No primeiro desejo ele pediu comida e água.
For his first wish, he asked for food and water.
No segundo desejo pediu para sair do poço.
For his second wish, he asked to get out of the well.

"What is your third wish?"
perguntei.
I asked.
O soldado pensou com cuidado.
The soldier thought carefully.
Quero que a bruxa seja punida.
"I wish for the witch to be punished."
Ela machucou muita gente.
"She hurt many people."
Usei a minha magia.
I used my magic.
A bruxa virou um sapo.
The witch became a frog.
Ela precisou viver para sempre em um lago.
She had to live in a pond forever.
O soldado ficou rico e feliz.
The soldier became rich and happy.
Mas ele me visitava todos os dias.
But he visited me every day.
Éramos melhores amigos.
We were best friends.
Agora não estou mais sozinha.
Now I am not lonely anymore.
Tenho um amigo de verdade.
I have a true friend.
Essa é a melhor magia de todas.
