Quando uma jovem fada chamada Shimmer perde sua habilidade de voar, ela precisa encontrar coragem para escalar a montanha mais alta do reino e alcançar o misterioso Reino do Céu. Maya loved balloons.

She had red ones, blue ones, and yellow ones in her room.
Mas o seu balão favorito era especial.
But her favorite balloon was special.
Era prateado e brilhante como um espelho.
It was silver and shiny like a mirror.
Este balão era feito de mylar, um tipo especial de plástico que nunca se rompia.
This balloon was made of mylar, a special kind of plastic that never broke.
Maya ganhou o balão na sua festa de aniversário há três semanas.
Maya got the balloon at her birthday party three weeks ago.
Todos os seus outros balões já estavam murchos, mas o prateado ainda flutuava perto do teto.
All her other balloons were flat now, but the silver one still floated near her ceiling.
Todas as manhãs, Maya dizia "Bom dia, Balão!"
Every morning, Maya said "Good morning, Balloon!"
e toda noite ela dizia "Boa noite, Balão!"
and every night she said "Good night, Balloon!"
Mas algo estranho começou a acontecer.
But something strange started happening.
Na segunda-feira de manhã, Maya acordou e encontrou o balão na cozinha.
On Monday morning, Maya woke up and found the balloon in the kitchen.
"Como você chegou aqui?"
"How did you get here?"
perguntou ela.
she asked.
A mãe dela riu.
Her mother laughed.
"O vento deve tê-lo movido", disse ela.
"The wind must have moved it," she said.
Na terça-feira, o balão estava no banheiro.
On Tuesday, the balloon was in the bathroom.
O pai da Maya viu-o lá.
Maya's father saw it there.
"Este balão gosta de viajar", brincou ele.
"This balloon likes to travel," he joked.
Na quarta-feira, Maya encontrou o balão lá fora no jardim.
On Wednesday, Maya found the balloon outside in the garden.
Isso foi muito estranho porque todas as janelas estavam fechadas.
This was very strange because all the windows were closed.
Maya trouxe o balão de volta para o seu quarto.
Maya brought the balloon back to her room.
Ela amarrou o barbante na sua mesa com um nó bem grande.
She tied the string to her desk with a big knot.
Chegou a manhã de quinta-feira.
Thursday morning came.
Maya abriu os olhos e gritou.
Maya opened her eyes and screamed.
O balão estava flutuando bem acima do seu rosto!
The balloon was floating right above her face!
A corda ainda estava amarrada à mesa, mas de alguma forma o balão tinha se movido.
The string was still tied to the desk, but somehow the balloon had moved.
Mãe!
"Mom!
"Pai!"
Dad!"
Maya chamou.
Maya called.
Mas quando os pais dela chegaram, o balão estava de volta ao seu lugar normal.
But when her parents came, the balloon was back in its normal place.
"Maya, você estava sonhando," disse sua mãe gentilmente.
"Maya, you were dreaming," her mother said gently.
Mas Maya sabia que não estava sonhando.
But Maya knew she was not dreaming.
Naquela noite, Maya decidiu observar o balão.
That night, Maya decided to watch the balloon.
Ela fingiu dormir, mas manteve um olho aberto.
She pretended to sleep but kept one eye open.
À meia-noite, algo incrível aconteceu.
At midnight, something incredible happened.
O balão começou a brilhar com uma luz suave e prateada.
The balloon began to glow with a soft, silver light.
Então Maya ouviu uma vozinha.
Then Maya heard a tiny voice.
"Olá, Maya," sussurrou a voz.
"Hello, Maya," the voice whispered.
Maya sentou-se na cama.
Maya sat up in bed.
"Quem está falando?"
"Who is talking?"
"Sou eu, seu balão," disse a voz.
"It's me, your balloon," the voice said.
"Meu nome é Shimmer."
"My name is Shimmer."
Maya não conseguia acreditar.
Maya could not believe it.
Balões não podem falar!
"Balloons cannot talk!"
"Balões especiais podem," explicou Shimmer.
"Special balloons can," Shimmer explained.
"Eu tenho tentado te contar algo importante."
"I have been trying to tell you something important."
"O que você quer me dizer?"
"What do you want to tell me?"
perguntou Maya.
Maya asked.
"Eu não sou do seu mundo," disse Shimmer.
"I am not from your world," Shimmer said.
"Eu venho do Reino Celestial, onde todos os balões nascem."
"I come from the Sky Kingdom, where all balloons are born.
Mas me perdi durante uma grande tempestade.
But I got lost during a big storm.
Tenho estado à procura do caminho para casa.
I have been looking for my way home."
Maya sentiu pena do seu amigo balão.
Maya felt sad for her balloon friend.
Como posso te ajudar?
"How can I help you?"
"Amanhã à noite, haverá lua cheia," disse Shimmer.
"Tomorrow night, there will be a full moon," Shimmer said.
"Se você me levar até a colina mais alta da sua cidade e me soltar, eu posso voar para casa, para o Reino do Céu."
"If you take me to the highest hill in your town and let me go, I can fly home to the Sky Kingdom."
Maya pensou sobre isso.
Maya thought about this.
Ela amava Shimmer, mas queria ajudar sua amiga.
She loved Shimmer, but she wanted to help her friend.
Na noite seguinte, Maya e seus pais subiram a grande colina nos arredores da cidade.
The next evening, Maya and her parents climbed the big hill outside their town.
Maya segurou firmemente a linha de Shimmer.
Maya held Shimmer's string tightly.
"Você está pronta?"
"Are you ready?"
perguntou Maya.
Maya asked.
"Sim," Shimmer sussurrou.
"Yes," Shimmer whispered.
"Obrigada por ser minha amiga."
"Thank you for being my friend."
Maya soltou a corda.
Maya let go of the string.
Shimmer flutuou para cima, para cima, para cima em direção ao luar até desaparecer entre as estrelas.
Shimmer floated up, up, up into the moonlight until she disappeared among the stars.
Às vezes, em noites claras, Maya olha para o céu e vê uma pequena luz prateada cintilando.
Sometimes, on clear nights, Maya looks up at the sky and sees a tiny silver light twinkling.
Ela acena e sussurra: "Olá, Shimmer."
She waves and whispers, "Hello, Shimmer."
