Long ago, in a kingdom crisscrossed by rivers, there lived a young keeper named Zara.
Zara era diferente dos outros guardiões.
Zara was different from the other keepers.
Enquanto eles observavam apenas a superfície da água, Zara estudava o que se movia por baixo.
While they watched only the surface of the water, Zara studied what moved beneath.
Ela ouvia os pequenos tremores dentro da corrente.
She listened to the tiny trembles inside the current.

The royal engineers visited her one day.

"Can you help us?" they asked. "Our messengers keep arriving late."
