Давним-давно, у далекій країні, існувало королівство з великим і могутнім царем на ім'я Шахріяр.

A long, long time ago, in a land far, far away, there was a kingdom with a great and powerful king named Shahryar.

Цей цар правив багатьма землями, та його серце було сповнене смутку й гніву.

This king ruled over many lands, but his heart was full of sadness and anger.

Одного дня він дізнався, що його цариця, жінка, яку він любив найбільше, зрадила його.

You see, one day he found out that his queen, the woman he loved the most, had betrayed him.

Це розбило йому серце на безліч уламків, і він вирішив, що більше ніколи не довірятиме жодній жінці.

This broke his heart into many pieces, and he decided that no woman could ever be trusted again.

Відтоді цар запровадив жахливий закон.

From that day, the king made a terrible rule.

Щовечора він одружувався з новою жінкою, а наступного ранку наказував її стратити.

He would marry a woman every evening, and the next morning, he would have her executed.

He thought this was the only way to make sure no woman could ever betray him again.

Now, in the same kingdom, there lived a very wise and clever woman named Scheherazade.

She was the daughter of the king's chief adviser, the vizier.

Шехерезада була не лише вродливою, а й напрочуд розумною.

Scheherazade was not only beautiful but also very smart.

Вона любила читати книги, пізнавати світ і розповідати історії.

She loved to read books, learn about the world, and tell stories.

Одного дня вона вирішила, що повинна зробити щось, аби зупинити жахливий закон царя.

One day, she decided that she had to do something to stop the king's terrible rule.

У неї був план, але він був дуже небезпечним.

She had a plan, but it was very dangerous.

Шехерезада сказала батькові: «Батьку, я вийду за царя».

Scheherazade told her father, “Father, I will marry the king.”

Her father was shocked and said, “No, my daughter!

She was brave and determined, and her father, though very scared, finally agreed.

Того вечора Шехерезада стала дружиною царя.

That evening, Scheherazade married the king.

Після весілля вони сіли разом у царській опочивальні.

After the wedding, they sat together in the royal chamber.

Шехерезада знала, що повинна діяти швидко.

Scheherazade knew she had to act quickly.

She started to tell the king a story.

Її голос був таким лагідним, а слова такими чарівними, що цар зацікавився й захотів почути більше.

Her voice was so sweet, and her words so magical, that the king became curious and wanted to hear more.

Scheherazade began her story.

“Once upon a time, there was a merchant who was traveling through the desert,” she said.

She told the story with great detail, describing the merchant, his journey, and the strange events that happened to him.

The king listened carefully, enjoying every word.

But just as the story was getting very exciting, Scheherazade stopped and said, “It is late, my king.

The king was surprised.

«Ні!

“No!

I want to know what happens next!” he said.

Але Шехерезада усміхнулася й відповіла: «Я не можу розповісти все за одну ніч.

But Scheherazade smiled and replied, “I cannot tell it all tonight.

Доведеться чекати до завтра».

You must wait until tomorrow.”

Цар, якому тепер дуже кортіло дізнатися продовження, вирішив не вбивати Шехерезаду тієї ночі.

The king, who was now very curious to hear the rest of the story, decided not to kill Scheherazade that night.

Він хотів почути більше, тож залишив її живою.

He wanted to hear more, so he let her live.

Наступної ночі Шехерезада продовжила історію, і коли вона знову дійшла до найцікавішого місця, зупинилася.

The next night, Scheherazade continued the story, and when it reached another exciting part, she stopped again.

The king, eager to know what happened, allowed her to live another night.

And so, this went on for many nights.

Every night, Scheherazade told a new story, and every morning, the king let her live so he could hear more.

The man was not really Aladdin’s uncle; he was a magician who wanted to use Aladdin to find a magical lamp hidden in a cave.

The magician took Aladdin to a dark cave in the mountains.

But when he refused to give it to the magician until he helped him out of the cave, the magician became angry and trapped Aladdin inside.

Aladdin was scared and alone in the dark cave.

Він потер перстень, що дав йому чаклун, і раптом з’явився могутній джин!

He rubbed the ring the magician had given him, and suddenly, a powerful genie appeared!

The genie said, “I am here to serve you.

What do you wish for?” Aladdin asked the genie to take him home, and the genie did so.

Але чаклун повернувся, намагаючись викрасти лампу й зруйнувати щастя Аладдіна.

But the magician came back, trying to steal the lamp and destroy Aladdin’s happiness.

Аладдіну довелося проявити кмітливість і скористатися допомогою джина, щоб перемогти чаклуна й урятувати своє нове життя.

Aladdin had to use his wits and the help of the genie to defeat the magician and keep his new life safe.

Ще одна історія Шехерезади була про Синдбада-мореплавця.

Another story Scheherazade told was about Sinbad the Sailor.

Синдбад був чоловіком, який обожнював море та пригоди.

Sinbad was a man who loved the sea and adventure.

He traveled to many strange and distant lands, where he faced incredible dangers.

In one of his voyages, Sinbad landed on an island that turned out to be a giant whale!

The whale dived into the sea, and Sinbad barely escaped with his life.

By this time, the king had fallen deeply in love with her.

He realized how cruel he had been and how much Scheherazade had taught him about kindness, forgiveness, and trust.

He decided to make her his queen forever and to never harm another woman again.

Так королівство знову стало щасливим місцем.

And so, the kingdom became a happier place.

Scheherazade’s bravery and cleverness had saved not only her life but the lives of many others.
