У глибокій-дальній галактиці існувала мирна, сяйлива блакитна планета на ім'я Терра.

In a galaxy far, far away, there was a peaceful, bright-blue planet called Terra.

Це було місце, сповнене винахідників, мрійників і дослідників.

It was a place full of inventors, dreamers, and explorers.

Жителі Терри любили створювати неймовірні машини та будувати величезні кораблі, щоб перетинати безкраї океани.

People on Terra loved to create amazing machines and build huge ships to cross its vast oceans.

Але одна команда вчених та інженерів, яку називали Зоряним клубом, мріяла вирушити за межі Терри й до самих зірок.

But one group of people, a team of scientists and engineers called the Star Club, dreamed of going beyond Terra and into the stars.

На чолі Зоряного клубу стояв сміливець на ім'я капітан Нікол.

The Star Club was led by a bold man named Captain Nichol.

Він славився шаленими ідеями та любов'ю до пригод.

He was known for his wild ideas and love of adventure.

Якось, коли члени Зоряного клубу зібралися у великому гамірному місті Балтика, капітан Нікол попросив усіх уваги.

One day, as the members of the Star Club gathered in the big, bustling city of Baltica, Captain Nichol called for everyone’s attention.

"Friends!" he shouted, with eyes bright and excited.

Yes, my friends—let us go to the Moon!" The crowd gasped.

Багато хто мріяв про Місяць, уявляючи, яким було б відвідати той далекий світ.

Many people had dreamed about the Moon, wondering what it would be like to visit that faraway world.

Думка побудувати корабель, здатний справді туди дістатися, була сміливою, майже неймовірною.

The idea of building a ship to actually go there was bold, almost unbelievable.

Та капітан Нікол говорив цілком серйозно.

But Captain Nichol was serious.

«Ми створимо зореліт, якого світ ще не бачив.

"We will create a starship unlike any other.

Ми увійдемо в історію.

We will make history.

Зоряний клуб першим дістанеться Місяця!» — лунав його голос, і натовп вибухнув оплесками.

The Star Club will be the first to reach the Moon!" His voice echoed through the square, and soon the crowd was cheering.

The people of Terra loved grand ideas, and the thought of reaching the Moon filled them with excitement.

Після промови капітана Нікола Зоряний клуб зібрався, аби почати планування.

After Captain Nichol's speech, the Star Club gathered to start making plans.

Їм потрібен був потужний корабель, здатний летіти швидше й далі за всі попередні судна.

They would need a powerful ship, one that could travel faster and farther than any ship ever built.

Вони взялися креслити проєкти й складати списки всього необхідного.

They began drawing designs and making lists of what they would need.

Майбутній зореліт вони назвали «Зоряний стрілець».

They called their future spaceship the *Star Shooter*.

The Star Club members were skilled and determined, and soon work on the *Star Shooter* began.

Вони вирішили, що корабель буде міцним металевим циліндром — високим і вузьким, із загостреними кінцями, щоб легше прорізати повітря.

They decided the ship would be a strong, shiny metal cylinder, tall and narrow, with pointed ends to cut through the air and make it easier to fly.

Всередині влаштували спеціальну кабіну для екіпажу з сидіннями, приладами та запасами їжі й води.

Inside, they built a special cabin for the crew to stay safe, with seats, controls, and storage for food and water.

«Як змусити «Зоряного стрільця» летіти достатньо швидко, щоб дістатися Місяця?» — почухав голову один інженер.

"How can we make the *Star Shooter* go fast enough to reach the Moon?" asked one of the engineers, scratching his head.

«Нам потрібна сила», — відповів капітан Нікол.

"We need power," Captain Nichol replied.

«Ми використаємо ракети — великі, потужні, що горітимуть енергією.

"We’ll use rockets—big, powerful rockets that will burn with energy.

Вони виштовхнуть наш корабель крізь небо Терри аж до самого Місяця».

They will push our ship up and out of Terra's sky, all the way to the Moon." But there were still more problems to solve.

Та залишалося розв'язати ще чимало задач.

They would need to carefully balance the ship, protect it from heat, and make sure it could hold enough air for the astronauts to breathe.

Треба було ретельно врівноважити корабель, захистити його від спеки та подбати про достатній запас повітря для астронавтів.

Everyone worked day and night, solving each problem, piece by piece.

Усі працювали день і ніч, крок за кроком долаючи кожну проблему.

They added windows so the crew could look out and see the stars.

Вони додали ілюмінатори, аби екіпаж міг визирати й бачити зорі.

On launch day, the people of Baltica gathered in the town square to see the great ship.

It stood tall, gleaming in the sunlight, with its rockets waiting to blast off.

Ардан і Барбікен піднялися на борт, їхні обличчя сяяли водночас захватом і хвилюванням.

Ardan and Barbicane climbed into the ship, their faces full of excitement and nerves.

Inside the *Star Shooter*, they checked their seats, tightened their belts, and made sure everything was in place.

The countdown began.

«Десять… дев’ять… вісім…» — натовп затих, розплющивши очі.

"Ten… nine… eight…" The crowd grew silent, waiting with wide eyes.

«Три… два… один… СТАРТ!» — вигукнув капітан Нікол.

"Three… two… one… LAUNCH!" Captain Nichol shouted.

Але справжня небезпека все ще чатувала поруч.

The rockets roared, flames bursting out from underneath the ship.

Повільно «Зоряний стрілець» відірвався від землі, підіймаючись усе вище в небо.

Slowly, the *Star Shooter* lifted off the ground, climbing higher and higher into the sky.

The people cheered, waving and shouting as the ship rose into the clouds, heading toward the stars.

Inside, Ardan and Barbicane felt the ship shake as it sped upward.

They looked out the window, watching Terra grow smaller and smaller.

Soon, they were leaving Terra’s sky and entering the blackness of space.

"We’re really in space!" Outside the window, the stars sparkled like diamonds.

The Moon lay ahead, a glowing ball in the distance.

«Дивись, комета!» — вигукнув Ардан, показуючи на яскравий хвіст, що розрізав темряву.

"Look, there’s a comet!" Ardan shouted, pointing at a bright, shining tail streaking across the dark sky.

«А он — планети!» — додав Барбікен, вказуючи на маленькі світні точки вдалині.

"And there—planets!" Barbicane said, gesturing toward small, glowing dots in the distance.

«Колись люди дослідять і ті світи».

"One day, people might explore those worlds too."

Вони по черзі спали, їли й працювали.

They took turns sleeping, eating, and working.

У космосі було тихо й красиво, лише далекий гул корабля порушував тишу.

Space was quiet and beautiful, with nothing but the distant hum of their ship.

Ardan would sometimes play a small instrument, a flute, to pass the time.

"Even in space, a little music feels nice," he’d say with a grin.

As they flew closer to the Moon, they began to prepare for landing.

They would need to slow down and find a safe spot to land on the rocky surface.

The Moon was getting bigger every day.

It now filled the window with its rough, gray surface.

The Moon was beautiful in a strange way—silent and mysterious.

«Маємо обрати рівне місце для посадки.

"We have to pick a smooth area to land.

Кратери дуже глибокі, й ми не хочемо загрузнути».

The craters are deep, and we don’t want to get stuck."

Після ретельних розрахунків вони вибрали пласку ділянку поблизу невеликих гір.

After careful planning, they chose a flat spot near a group of small mountains.

«Зоряний стрілець» повільно опускався і з легким стуком торкнувся поверхні Місяця.

The *Star Shooter* slowly descended, and with a soft thud, it landed on the Moon’s surface.

Кінець… чи, може, й ні?

Ardan and Barbicane held their breath, looking at each other with wide eyes.

«Ми це зробили!» — вигукнув Ардан, відстібаючи ремінь.

"We did it!" Ardan shouted, unbuckling his seatbelt.

The Moon was nothing like Terra—there was no air to breathe, and everything was quiet, with no sounds at all.

They opened the door, stepping out onto the strange, dusty ground.

Ґрунт був м’яким під ногами, а кроки — легкими.

The ground felt soft under their feet, and every step was light.

In the Moon’s low gravity, they could jump high into the air, almost like flying.

«Поглянь на мене!» — сміявся Ардан, стрибаючи довкола.

"Look at me!" Ardan said, laughing as he leaped across the ground.

Барбікен обережно збирав зразки каміння й пилу, складаючи їх у маленькі мішечки.

Barbicane carefully collected samples of the rocks and dust, putting them into small bags.

"People on Terra will want to study these," he said.

«Важко повірити, що ми перші, хто їх торкається».

"It’s amazing to think we’re the first people to touch them."

Вони встановили прапор, позначивши свою подорож, і вирушили досліджувати місцевість.

They planted a flag to mark their journey, and explored the strange landscape.

Побачили гори з гострими піками та глибокі кратери, що, здавалося, не мали кінця.

They saw mountains with sharp, jagged peaks and deep craters that seemed to go on forever.

The Moon’s silence made everything feel mysterious.

As they explored, they wondered what mysteries the Moon might hold.

They climbed into the *Star Shooter*, taking one last look at the Moon.

Запустили двигуни, злетіли з його поверхні та почали довгий шлях назад.

They started the engines, lifting off from the Moon’s surface and beginning the long journey home.

У польоті вони обговорювали все побачене й зібране.

As they traveled, they talked about everything they had seen and collected.

Їм кортіло поділитися відкриттями з усіма на Террі. Дорога додому була спокійною, і скоро у вікні знову з’явилася рідна планета, що ставала дедалі більшою й синішою.

They were excited to share their discoveries with everyone back on Terra. The journey home was smooth, and soon they could see their planet growing bigger and bluer in the window.

Терра сяяла й манила, мов дорогоцінний камінь у темряві космосу.

Terra looked bright and welcoming, a shining jewel in the blackness of space.

When they finally landed, a huge crowd was waiting for them.

І коли люди Терри поглядали на нічне небо, вони замислювалися, які ще таємниці ховаються серед зірок.

And as the people of Terra looked up at the night sky, they wondered what other mysteries waited for them out there in the stars.

Можливо, одного дня вони збудують ще більші кораблі й вирушать на далекі планети.

Perhaps one day, they would build even bigger ships and travel to planets far beyond their own.

А поки що вони зробили перший крок.

For now, they had taken the first step.

They had reached the Moon, and the stars awaited.
