Anansi l'araignée vivait avec sa femme Aso.

Mais il ne voulait pas partager les fruits avec sa femme.

Il voulait tous les manger à lui seul.

He wanted to eat them all by himself.

Chaque jour, Anansi se rendait seul à l'arbre.

Every day, Anansi went to the tree alone.

Il mangea et mangea jusqu'à ce que son ventre soit plein.

He ate and ate until his belly was full.

Puis il rentra chez lui à Aso. Aso avait encore faim.

Then he went home to Aso. Aso was still hungry.

Elle demanda à Anansi,

« Où vas-tu chaque jour ? »

"Where do you go every day?"

"Pourquoi n'as-tu plus faim ?"

"Why are you not hungry anymore?"

Anansi mentit à sa femme.

Anansi lied to his wife.

"I go to work."

Je ne mange rien.

"I eat nothing."

Mais Aso était intelligent.

But Aso was smart.

Elle suivit Anansi un jour.

She followed Anansi one day.

Elle se cacha derrière un rocher et l'observa.

She hid behind a rock and watched him.

Elle vit Anansi manger les fruits sucrés.

She saw Anansi eating the sweet fruits.

Elle vit l'arbre magique.

She saw the magic tree.

Elle était très en colère et triste.

She was very angry and sad.

Aso rentra chez elle et attendit.

Aso went home and waited.

Quand Anansi revint, elle dit,

When Anansi came back, she said,

Je sais pour ton arbre.

"I know about your tree."

"Pourquoi ne m'en as-tu pas fait part ?"

"Why did you not share with me?"

« Je suis votre épouse. »

"I am your wife."

"Nous devrions tout partager."

"We should share everything."

Anansi se sentit mal.

Anansi felt bad.

Il regrettait d'avoir été égoïste.

He was sorry for being selfish.

Il dit :

« Tu as raison, Aso. Viens avec moi demain. »

"You are right, Aso. Come with me tomorrow."

Nous mangerons ensemble.

"We will eat together."

Le lendemain, ils allèrent ensemble à l'arbre.

The next day, they went to the tree together.

Ils cueillirent des fruits et les mangèrent.

They picked fruits and ate them.

Ils étaient tous les deux heureux.
