Il y a longtemps, vivait une araignée nommée Anansi.

Long ago, there lived a spider named Anansi.

Il était très malin et adorait raconter des histoires.

He was very clever and loved to tell stories.

Tous les animaux de la forêt venaient écouter ses merveilleux récits.

All the animals in the forest came to hear his wonderful tales.

Un jour, un grand éléphant nommé Kojo arriva dans la forêt.

One day, a big elephant named Kojo came to the forest.

Kojo était jaloux d'Anansi.

Kojo was jealous of Anansi.

Il voulait que tous les animaux l'écoutent à sa place.

He wanted all the animals to listen to him instead.

« Je peux raconter de meilleures histoires que cette petite araignée »

"I can tell better stories than that little spider,"

se dit Kojo.

Kojo said to himself.

Cette nuit-là, pendant qu'Anansi dormait, Kojo se glissa furtivement jusqu'à sa maison.

That night, while Anansi was sleeping, Kojo crept to his house.

Il trouva un sac magique où Anansi gardait toutes ses histoires.

He found a magic bag where Anansi kept all his stories.

Kojo prit le sac et s'enfuit.

Kojo took the bag and ran away.

Le lendemain matin, Anansi se réveilla.

The next morning, Anansi woke up.

Son sac à histoires avait disparu !

His story bag was gone!

Il chercha partout mais ne put la trouver. Entre-temps, Kojo rassembla tous les animaux.

He looked everywhere but could not find it. Meanwhile, Kojo gathered all the animals.

« Venez écouter mes histoires extraordinaires ! »

"Come listen to my amazing stories!"

cria-t-il.

Mais quand Kojo ouvrit le sac, quelque chose d'étrange se produisit.

But when Kojo opened the bag, something strange happened.

Les histoires s'envolèrent comme des papillons, mais elles étaient toutes mélangées et n'avaient aucun sens.

The stories flew out like butterflies, but they were all mixed up and made no sense.

« Il était une fois, la lune mangea une bicyclette, »

"Once upon a time, the moon ate a bicycle,"

dit Kojo, lisant les mots flottants.

Kojo said, reading from the floating words.

Les animaux avaient l'air confus.

The animals looked confused.

« Cela n'a pas de sens, »

"That doesn't make sense,"

dit Lapin. Anansi entendit le bruit et accourut.

said Rabbit. Anansi heard the noise and came running.

Il vit ses histoires voler dans les airs.

He saw his stories flying around in the air.

« Ce sont mes histoires ! »

"Those are my stories!"

cria Anansi.

Anansi shouted.

« Tu ne peux pas voler les histoires, Kojo. Les histoires ne fonctionnent que lorsqu'elles viennent du cœur. »

"You cannot steal stories, Kojo. Stories only work when they come from the heart."

Anansi commença à tisser sa toile.

Anansi began to spin his web.

Il attrapa chaque histoire avec délicatesse et les remit en ordre.

He caught each story gently and put them back in order.

Puis il s'assit et raconta aux animaux un beau conte sur l'amitié et l'honnêteté.

Then he sat down and told the animals a beautiful tale about friendship and honesty.

Les animaux adorèrent l'histoire d'Anansi.

The animals loved Anansi's story.

Ils se détournèrent de Kojo, qui se sentit très honteux.

They turned away from Kojo, who felt very ashamed.

« Je suis désolé, Anansi, »

"I'm sorry, Anansi,"

dit Kojo.

Kojo said.

« J'ai eu tort de voler tes histoires. »

"I was wrong to steal your stories."

Anansi sourit.

Anansi smiled.

Les histoires sont faites pour être partagées, non pour être volées.

"Stories are meant to be shared, not stolen."

Si tu veux raconter des histoires, tu dois créer les tiennes.

"If you want to tell stories, you must create your own."

À partir de ce jour-là, Kojo apprit à raconter ses propres histoires.

From that day on, Kojo learned to tell his own stories.

Et Anansi continua à partager ses contes avec tous ceux qui voulaient les écouter.
