But he did not want to share the fruits with his wife.

He wanted to eat them all by himself.

Todos os dias, Anansi ia à árvore sozinho.

Every day, Anansi went to the tree alone.

Ele comeu e comeu até que sua barriga ficou cheia.

He ate and ate until his belly was full.

Então ele foi para casa, para Aso. Aso ainda estava com fome.

Then he went home to Aso. Aso was still hungry.

Ela perguntou a Anansi,

She asked Anansi,

"Onde você vai todos os dias?"

"Where do you go every day?"

"Por que você não tem mais fome?"

"Why are you not hungry anymore?"

Anansi mentiu para sua esposa.

Anansi lied to his wife.

Ele disse,

He said,

"Eu vou trabalhar."

"I go to work."

"Não como nada."

"I eat nothing."

Mas Aso era esperto.

But Aso was smart.

Ela seguiu Anansi um dia.

She followed Anansi one day.

Ela se escondeu atrás de uma pedra e o observou.

She hid behind a rock and watched him.

Ela viu Anansi comendo os frutos doces.

She saw Anansi eating the sweet fruits.

Ela viu a árvore mágica.

She saw the magic tree.

Ela estava muito zangada e triste.

She was very angry and sad.

Aso foi para casa e esperou.

Aso went home and waited.

Quando Anansi voltou, ela disse,

When Anansi came back, she said,

"Eu sei sobre a sua árvore."

"I know about your tree."

"Por que não compartilhaste comigo?"

"Why did you not share with me?"

"Eu sou sua esposa."

"I am your wife."

"Devemos compartilhar tudo."

"We should share everything."

Anansi sentiu-se mal.

Anansi felt bad.

Ele se arrependeu de ter sido egoísta.

He was sorry for being selfish.

Ele disse,

He said,

"Tens razão, Aso. Vem comigo amanhã."

"You are right, Aso. Come with me tomorrow."

"Nós comeremos juntos."

"We will eat together."

No dia seguinte, foram juntos à árvore.

The next day, they went to the tree together.

Colheram frutos e os comeram.

They picked fruits and ate them.

They were both happy.

From that day, Anansi learned to share with his wife.

They were still poor, but they had enough food.

And they had each other.
