Ça a l'air facile.

"It looks easy."

Le choucas vit un gros mouton.

The jackdaw saw a big sheep.

Il descendit en vol pour saisir le mouton.

He flew down to grab the sheep.

Mais le choucas était petit et faible.

But the jackdaw was small and weak.

Ses griffes se prirent dans l'épaisse toison du mouton.

His claws got stuck in the sheep's thick wool.

Il ne pouvait pas s'envoler.

He could not fly away.

Le choucas tira et tira.

The jackdaw pulled and pulled.

Mais il ne put se libérer.

Un berger aperçut le choucas.

A shepherd saw the jackdaw.

Le berger l'attrapa facilement.

The shepherd caught him easily.

« Quelle sorte d'oiseau es-tu ? »

demanda le berger.

asked the shepherd.

« Je suis un aigle ! »

"I am an eagle!"

dit le choucas.

said the jackdaw.

Le berger rit.

The shepherd laughed.

« Non, tu n'es qu'un choucas. »

"No, you are just a jackdaw."

« Si tu savais ce que tu es vraiment, tu ne serais pas en difficulté maintenant. »

"If you knew what you really were, you would not be in trouble now."
