L'Homme et le Satyre

Un homme marchait dans la forêt par un froid jour d'hiver.

A man was walking in the forest on a cold winter day.

Il rencontra un satyre qui vivait dans les bois.

He met a satyr who lived in the woods.

« Viens chez moi », dit le satyre.

"Come to my home," said the satyr.

« Tu pourras te réchauffer là-bas. »

"You can warm up there."

L'homme avait très froid.

The man was very cold.

Ses mains étaient glacées.

His hands were freezing.

Il approcha ses mains de sa bouche et souffla dessus.

He put his hands near his mouth and blew on them.

« Pourquoi fais-tu cela ? » demanda le satyre.

"Why do you do that?" asked the satyr.

« Je souffle sur mes mains pour les réchauffer », dit l'homme.

"I blow on my hands to make them warm," said the man.

Ils se rendirent chez le satyre.

They went to the satyr's home.

Le satyre donna à l'homme une soupe chaude.

The satyr gave the man hot soup.

La soupe était très chaude.

The soup was very hot.

L'homme souffla sur la soupe pour la refroidir.

The man blew on the soup to cool it down.

Le satyre vit cela et se mit en colère.

The satyr saw this and became angry.

« Allez-vous-en ! » dit le satyre.

"Go away!" said the satyr.

« D'abord tu souffles pour réchauffer les choses.

"First you blow to make things hot.

Puis tu souffles pour refroidir les choses.

Then you blow to make things cold.

Je ne peux faire confiance à quelqu'un qui fait deux choses différentes avec le même souffle ! » Le satyre chassa l'homme de sa demeure.

I cannot trust someone who does two different things with the same breath!" The satyr pushed the man out of his home.

L'homme dut retourner seul dans la forêt froide.

The man had to walk back into the cold forest alone.
