De Vos & de Kraai

Een kraai zat in een boom.

A crow sat in a tree.

Ze had een groot stuk kaas in haar snavel.

She had a big piece of cheese in her mouth.

Een vos liep voorbij.

A fox walked by.

Hij zag de kraai en de kaas.

He saw the crow and the cheese.

De vos verlangde hevig naar de kaas.

The fox wanted the cheese very much.

"Hallo, mooie kraai!" zei de vos.

"Hello, beautiful crow!" said the fox.

"Je bent zo mooi!

"You are so pretty!

Je zwarte veren zijn prachtig!" De kraai voelde zich gelukkig.

Your black feathers are wonderful!" The crow felt happy.

Ze hield van de vriendelijke woorden.

She liked the nice words.

"Ik vind dat jij ook een mooie stem hebt," zei de vos.

"I think you have a beautiful voice too," said the fox.

"Kun je voor mij zingen?"

"Can you sing for me?

"Zing alsjeblieft één lied!" De kraai wilde haar stem laten horen.

Please sing one song!" The crow wanted to show her voice.

Ze opende haar bek om te zingen.
