El Lobo y el Cabrito

Un niño pequeño vivía con su madre cabra.

A young kid lived with his mother goat.

Un día, la madre cabra necesitaba ir al mercado.

One day, the mother goat needed to go to the market.

"Debo salir,"

"I must go out,"

dijo la cabra madre.

said the mother goat.

"No le abras la puerta a nadie."

"Do not open the door for anyone."

Un lobo feroz y grande vive en el bosque.

"A big bad wolf lives in the forest."

Él quiere comerte.

"He wants to eat you."

"Tendré cuidado, Madre,"

"I will be careful, Mother,"

dijo el cabrito.

said the little kid.

La cabra madre se marchó.

The mother goat left.

Pronto, alguien llamó a la puerta.

Soon, someone knocked on the door.

Niño pequeño, abre la puerta.

"Little kid, open the door."

Es tu madre,

"It is your mother,"

dijo una voz profunda.

said a deep voice.

El niño pequeño miró a través de la ventana.

The little kid looked through the window.

Vio al lobo feroz.

He saw the big bad wolf.

"Tú no eres mi madre,"

"You are not my mother,"

dijo el niño.

said the kid.

"Mi madre tiene una voz suave."

"My mother has a soft voice."

Tu voz es demasiado profunda y áspera.

"Your voice is too deep and rough."

El lobo se marchó.

The wolf went away.

Bebió miel para suavizar su voz.

He drank honey to make his voice soft.

Entonces regresó y volvió a tocar.

Then he came back and knocked again.

Niñito, abre la puerta.

"Little kid, open the door."

Es tu madre,

"It is your mother,"

dijo el lobo con voz suave.

said the wolf in a soft voice.

El cabrito oyó la voz suave.

The little kid heard the soft voice.

Pero aún así fue cauteloso.

But he was still careful.

"Muéstrame tu pie,"

"Show me your foot,"

dijo el niño.

said the kid.

El lobo metió su pata negra por debajo de la puerta.

The wolf put his black paw under the door.

"Tú no eres mi madre,"

"You are not my mother,"

dijo el niño.

said the kid.

Mi madre tiene los pies blancos.

"My mother has white feet."

Tus pies son negros.

"Your feet are black."

El lobo estaba furioso.

The wolf was angry.

Fue al panadero y se puso harina en las patas para hacerlas blancas.

He went to the baker and put flour on his paws to make them white.

Entonces regresó.

Then he came back.

"Niñito, abre la puerta."

"Little kid, open the door."

Es tu madre,

"It is your mother,"

dijo el lobo suavemente.

said the wolf softly.

"Muéstrame tu pie,"

"Show me your foot,"

dijo el niño.

said the kid.

El lobo mostró su pata blanca.

The wolf showed his white paw.

El cabrito pensó que era su madre.

The little kid thought it was his mother.

Abrió la puerta.

He opened the door.

El gran lobo saltó adentro.

The big wolf jumped inside.

¡Ahora te voy a comer!

"Now I will eat you!"

dijo el lobo.

said the wolf.

Pero el astuto cabrito era veloz.

But the clever little kid was fast.

Corrió y se escondió detrás de la gran tinaja de agua.

He ran and hid behind the big water pot.

Justo en ese momento, la cabra madre llegó a casa.

Just then, the mother goat came home.

Vio al lobo y usó sus fuertes cuernos para ahuyentarlo.

She saw the wolf and used her strong horns to chase him away.

"Ten siempre cuidado,"

"Always be careful,"

dijo la cabra madre.

said the mother goat.

"Las cosas malas a veces pueden parecer buenas."

"Bad things can look good sometimes."
