Le hibou et la sauterelle

Il était une fois une vieille chouette qui aimait dormir le jour.

Once upon a time, there was an old owl who loved to sleep during the day.

Elle était très grincheuse si quelque chose perturbait son sommeil.

She was very grumpy if anything disturbed her sleep.

Un après-midi ensoleillé, alors qu'elle dormait dans son arbre, une sauterelle s'est mise à chanter fort à proximité.

One sunny afternoon, as she was sleeping in her tree, a grasshopper started singing loudly nearby.

La chouette sortit la tête de l'arbre et dit: "Va- t'en!

The owl popped her head out of the tree and said, "Go away!

Tu ne vois pas que j'essaie de dormir? " Mais la sauterelle a chanté encore plus fort.

La chouette savait qu'il était inutile de se disputer avec la sauterelle, et elle ne voyait pas assez bien pendant la journée pour l'attraper.

Alors, elle a décidé de tromper la sauterelle.

So, she decided to trick the grasshopper.

"Oh, chère sauterelle, dit le hibou doucement, tu chantes si bien.

"Oh, dear grasshopper," the owl said sweetly, "you sing so beautifully.

Veux- tu venir plus près pour que je puisse mieux t'entendre? " La sauterelle fut très heureuse d'entendre cela et sauta plus près du hibou.

Won't you come closer so I can hear you better?" The grasshopper was very happy to hear this and hopped closer to the owl.

Mais dès qu'il s'est approché, le hibou l'a attrapé et l'a dévoré. La morale de l'histoire est la suivante: méfiez- vous de la flatterie, car elle pourrait être une ruse.
